Her crop looks very empty - hope Louis delivers a fish soon 

and she is still sitting there now @ 07.49

09.38, good morning campers. Aila is on the perch and mating takes place, it may even have been a success!! Ian

Where did the Christmas tree come from? Aila doing her best to break it up

Highlights since my last post, all timings are approximate despite the time stamp!. 09.58 another attempted mating on the perch (unsuccessful I think). 10.07 a successful mating on the nest, 10.35 Louis brings in a large clump of moss (to answer Patily's question). 11.11 a successful mating on the nest. 11.18 Aila jumps up to the perch, from time to time her tail dangles in front of the camera. Louis has been back with some more moss (much smaller clump) & a stick. The previous large clump is in danger of being blown off the nest. Louis & Aila have both been pecking at the upright stick, I reckon it will be gone by the time there are chicks. Ian

12.19, successful mating on the nest. This time Louis turned his tail to the right just to blow my left turn theory out of the water! 12.24, Louis is back and Aila jumps up to the camera with a bracelet of moss round her left leg. Ian

12.43, mating on the camera. 12.46, Louis brings in an interesting stick and has a comical battle with it. He then does a bit of cupping. He really is covering all the bases today: fish, moss, sticks, nest organising & plenty of mating! Ian

All this lovely soft moss, is going to blow away - such a waste.
