Last season Louis and Aila arrived on their nest almost at the same instant on the 4th of April. Here's to a repeat, but a few days earlier to save our anxiety.
WEBCAM, compliments of the Woodland Trust and the People's Postcode Lottery.
IMAGICAT
Louis has just delivered a fish but he hasn't handed it over yet :-)
I don't know if there was an intruder around or not, but he flew off with it again, leaving Aila shouting for it to come back.
My software doesn't record sound now, I noticed it last year after an MS update. :-(

09.23, Louis brought the fish back. Aila took it and departed. 09.47, Aila came back a couple of minutes earlier and Louis brought in a nice stick that Aila carefully placed. 10.03, a poor mating attempt by Louis, he tried to mount Aila from in front! 10.11, another fantastic view of Louis flying towards the nest with a licheny stick, followed by some nestcupping. 10.18, Aila does a spot of nestcupping as well. Ailla has been on the nest surveying her domain & giving the occasional fish call. Ian
11.33, half fish which Aila takes with no fuss. Ian
EDIT - maybe more like three quarters of a fish.
12.08, Louis arrives with a reasonable stick, Aila follows him in. 12.11, another stick or more accurately a twig. They are both looking like they are currently enjoying the sun. 12.27, successful mating. 12.32, another stick. Ian
13.01, they both leave quickly in the same direction with alarm calls. Ian
George Anderson has on the WT chat highlighted a nice article in the Oban Times and a WT press release on the return, see links below. Ian www.obantimes.co.uk/.../

13.29, they are both back but looking alert. Ian
EDIT - they couldn't have been that bothered, 13.31 a successful mating!
