Last season Louis and Aila arrived on their nest almost at the same instant on the 4th of April. Here's to a repeat, but a few days earlier to save our anxiety.

Morning all. I probably won't be able to give a blow by blow account today, please accept my humble apologies. There were a couple of visists to the nest from 05.02. It looks like there was a fish delivery at 06.40 but Aila only came back at 06.48, after a bit of toing & froing she got it at 07.08. Ian
Morning Ian
Some caps to go along with your description above.
Aila waits on Louis delivering breakfast.
He deliveries half a fish which eats on the nest for a while
Aila flies off and Louis does some nest cupping
Aila returns and they pose for the camera
Louis prepares to fly off.
Aila stands on the nest looking as beautiful as ever

Louis brings in a licheny stick, places it, mates then flies off again
Since Mary's post, there hasn't been much activity. Louis hasn't been the "lurve machine" he was yesterday morning but there have been two or three mating attempts, although one was a failure. I have only seen one stick being brought in so far by Louis. At 10.14, Aila flew off down the glen with a couple of alarm calls, but nothing came of it, they came back together 15 minutes or so later. At 10.40 a corvid of some type (probably hoodie) flew across the nest, L&A showed no interest in it at all. Ian
Both on the nest 12.49 with either a corvid or an intruder around. I wonder whether Kielder's Aln has passed by. She was up that way y'day!
12.53 Whatever bothered them, isn't doing so now. Just standing companionably

Duplicate post, no idea why or how!
13.28, Louis brings in another of his trademark sticks and spends the next minute or two trying to untangle himself from it :) Ian
EDIT - 13.30, Aila brings in some moss. 13.32, unsuccessful mating attempt.
14.09, unsuccessful mating, neither of them seemed overly keen. Ian
EDIT - 14.39, Louis comes in with a pretty useless stick. 14.42, mating.
14.22 Aila was on the nest on her own, Louis landed with a spindly stick - an unseen intruder is around. No calling, but both are looking around. 14.24 relaxed but keeping an eye on the sky to the right and behind the nest up the hill.
14.27 Louis took off - I think I heard a buzzard calling - but I do have three cams on the go!
14.50 Aila flew off. She returned at 15.17, moved a small twig or two, and again looked around.
15.31 Aila flew off again down to the right and disappeared
16.23 She returned empty talonned. The cam post shadow has almost disappeared as the sun has moved round.
She is still there. Louis has not returned
