Last season Louis and Aila arrived on their nest almost at the same instant on the 4th of April. Here's to a repeat, but a few days earlier to save our anxiety.

09.26, successful mating. 09.28, Louis brings in moss. 09.33, a joint effort at stick moving. 09.36 successful mating. Ian
Aila was being blown around on a windy nest, and calling occasionally. Louis returned, and Aila, ever hopeful checked his talons. There was no fish, so she flew off. Whether he had brought in one earlier I don't know, but he did clean his beak on a chunky piece of wood at the back of the nest!!!
Louis is testing the cup, and nest cupping.
Finding no fish, Aila flew off

12.04, Louis delivers a very nice whole fish. 12.25, Aila brings the fish back untouched, Louis takes it and flies with it. 12.26 Louis comes back with the fish and starts on the head. 12.29, Aila looks interested in the fish so Louis flies with it and Aila starts calling for it. 12.56, Louis brings the fish back (minus the head) and drops it on the nest for Aila who flies off with it. A few days ago she wasn't interested in a whole fish but was interested when Louis brought it back headless. It must be a new service that Aila demands, a fish beheading service. Next she will be asking for it to be served as nicely trimmed fillets! Ian
13.31, successful mating on the nest and again at 13.50. Ian
17.06, Aila arrives but even then she doesn't seem to realise he has a fish. When she eventually shows interest in it Louis flies off with it. Ian
