This is the most activity I have been lucky enough to catch
08.16 When I first switched on there was a feed ongoing. Seconds later they were all flat in the nest from an unseen threat.
Threat passes and B35 back to eating the fish.

12.17 Feed in progress. Feeding always seems a calm affair with these two.

Hello Patily. I have just been listening to BBC Radio Cumbria when there was a short piece on both Bassenthwaite (about osprey wings) and Foulshaw Moss (about the ringing) . The item starts at around 15.23. They confirmed the ring numbers of the Foulshaw pair, both females. Blue 410(20) f , they were calling Yan, and Blue 411(20)f they had been calling Tan well prior to ringing. The third chick which died fairly soon after hatching they had called Tethera. These are names of the old Cumbrian shepherds’ system for counting sheep. They were speaking to Paul Waterhouse from Foulshaw Moss, who said they were likely to fledge within the next couple of weeks.
When I came across the programme both mum and dad were on the nest, mum feeding the chicks and dad on guard. This seems to be a regular spot for discussing the Cumbria osprey nests, so tune in next week!
