DYFI OSPREY PROJECT - 2020

  • Things are looking so bleak, as you say Starling, it is sad times everywhere!

  • Thanks Mike

No, it is not good news but more so for them than us as while it is awful that we cannot visit their new centre, the financial impact they will incur is going to be devastating.

Just a thought - I think it would be nice for anyone who was planning to visit - if their circumstances allow - to donate the entrance fee. I am going to :-)
  • Thanks, Mike, for letting us know. Is there anything we can do, other than perhaps donating something to the project if we are able to do that? If they manage to get the live stream running they will still need money for that. I imagine MWT would appreciate any donation, too, and perhaps manage to continue to employ a few people..

    Kind regards, Ann

  • Ann, there is a Live streaming appeal, as usual, already in existence.

Karen has a good idea, above, and one person has decided to donate the petrol money she would have used to go there each time! The bottom line is they need all the help they can get.

  • Thanks, Mike, I know about the live streaming appeal--thanks for posting the link.

    Kind regards, Ann

  • It is very sad, but highly realistic. They had put so much planning and logistics into getting this finished during April, all the key designers, builders, carpenters, volunteers with their magnificent input.
I have to say, I am astounded at how many morons are still out and about in groups around the country as though it won't affect them. So selfish, so ignorant. This is a serious virus with so many unknowns, so many consequences for us all.
It could be an expensive time in donating too! So many wonderful sites and cams I follow, each and everyone will be hugely impacted.

  • Thanks MIKE I am afraid, on a selfish note, I am particularly devastated As you know I was planning to go to Dyfi and Glaslyn this year staying in an adapted cottage and driven there by a friend in a special hire vehicle that would safely take my wheelchair. The charity has already paid part of the fees I am gutted and in tears
  • I have to say Patily that you were the first person I thought of. As you say, I knew your plans and the work that had gone into organising your trip.
I am so sorry for you.
