NEWS FROM OTHER NESTS - 2020

Thanks, Scylla. Anyone who knows your posting record will not mind if you take a week off! And I hope the chatters are correct that all is well on this Aussie nest, but that other chick looks to be growing far faster than the little one. Fingers still crossed.

01 October in Oz

05:30 Mum was taking her wake-up break, only 2 chicks got up but Taps was one of them, wide-beaked from the get-go:

Dad had been watching the kids, Mum brought in nest material:

She told him to go fishing in no uncertain terms ;)

Breakfish was around 10:00 and Taps got several bites...

Can't say how many of them went down successfully, but after the feed was over Taps was still hungry but not empty-cropped

Solly and Dew are dismissed with "they did OK"

From a very quick scan of Chat it seems that it's been a good day for all the osplets including Taps - and Solly and Dew entertained with a Rumble in the Jungle style battle

Lots of dropouts in the stream on this rainy day.

08 October

It's been drier, but I just can't get a clear picture of the birds on the nest - but here's Dad visiting briefly, with Taps showing his/her little head - still much smaller than siblings but feathers are maturing :)

I'm not able to post much at present but appreciate all updates, especially of Taps thanks scylla

It looked like a lovely day at Port Lincoln today, what a relief!

Dad was gorgeous, drying off:

And Taps really muscled in between the bigger sibs and got plenty bites!

Llyn Brenig:  there has been some really dreadful news of Llyn Brenig's sole fledgling,  Blue KC5(20) f.  Her body was found on 5 August, adjacent to a b****y wind turbine, just under three miles from the nest. Details here.
