A lovely article Alison and so nice that they published it for you. You certainly have had a most fantastic journey, seeing and doing what we will never be able to. We may not be able to go the translocation site, hand them their dinner, watch them learn to fly and soar around the harbour, let alone going to Senegal to see them, but we can watch them on here, at all the different nest sites and still feel that we are part of all the goings on. Hopefully not long too wait until the first arrival comes home!

Alison, Thanks ever so much for letting us see your lovely article and as others have said, lucky you to be close enough to volunteer and to have gone to Africa to see Ospreys there. We are so fortunate to have you reporting from the site. Ospreys certainly are addictive and I caught the bug in 2013 starting with Loch Garten and Loch of the Lowes and like you gradually expanding to other nests including Rutland, Dyfi, Glaslyn, Kielder, Aberfoyle, Tweed Valley and more. We first went to Birdfair that year because for us, as for you, they were the closest nesting Ospreys to us. Once Ospreys are breeding at Poole, that will still be a bit of a drive but far closer to us than Rutland. Do you know if there are plans for a camera on the platform at Pergins Island in addition to the one at Middlebere?
