2019 season summary: Laddie (LM12) arrived back from migration on Friday 15th March; Lassie (LM15) on Saturday 23rd March. Lassie laid 3 eggs on 4th, 7th and 10th April, hatching 11th, 12th and 16th May. Sadly, on 26th May the third chick died. The remaining two chicks were ringed on 26th June as follows: #1 Blue PT4 (M)* #2 Blue PT5 (M)*. They successfully fledged and subsequently set off for their first migration on 14th/15th August. Laddie left around the same time as the youngsters and it is thought that Lassie had already started her journey south approximately 2 weeks prior.

Both Ospreys (unringed) have been a breeding pair on this nest since 2015, after the iconic 'Lady' failed to return.

Good Morning MARY
I was hoping it was Lassie on the nest until I caught a glimpse of blue Laddie flew in and immediately started mantling and now he has flown
Good Morning Patily and Jane
She has flown, then there was alarm calls, and Laddie is back now
EDIT: Sorry Jane didn't see any fish :-)
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Laddie is on the nest now, and there are alarm chips happening off it. If this is the same unringed intruder from yesterday when it was deemed to be a male, surely the female would not be off the nest trying to chase a male away, that would be Laddie's job.
He has flown now @ 07.03
This is him at around 06.58

Laddie is back again at 07.10 am doing some nestorising. No sign of her.
They are both back on the nest now, Laddie still mantling.
Well I think it was a fish but it was an old one if it was.
EDIT I need to have a cup of tea before tuning in, it looks like a piece of wood, sorry Mary.
Looked for it on scrollback Jane but couldn't find Laddie with a fish. Maybe Scylla will find it. :-) Although she definitely deserves a day off today. :-)
More mating a minute ago.
They are both very alert at the moment, looking all around them.....
