2019 season summary: Laddie (LM12) arrived back from migration on Friday 15th March; Lassie (LM15) on Saturday 23rd March. Lassie laid 3 eggs on 4th, 7th and 10th April, hatching 11th, 12th and 16th May. Sadly, on 26th May the third chick died. The remaining two chicks were ringed on 26th June as follows: #1 Blue PT4 (M)* #2 Blue PT5 (M)*. They successfully fledged and subsequently set off for their first migration on 14th/15th August. Laddie left around the same time as the youngsters and it is thought that Lassie had already started her journey south approximately 2 weeks prior.

Both Ospreys (unringed) have been a breeding pair on this nest since 2015, after the iconic 'Lady' failed to return.

scylla said:I'll do another vid for Laddie's end-of-day.
No I won't, it's too unclear.
Here's proof of Laddie's late fish - I wonder where he got it? Did she give it to him in the end - let's pretend ;)
Also, when he flew off finally to our right, the solid clod was attached to his feet and dropped on the edge of the nest:

It wasn't me, KORKY, it was MIKE with a torpedo! (Of which I approved!)

Good Morning All
BR Female on nest and Sky Dancing faintly heard.
Laddie came in to mate, it was a successful one.

Yes Scylla they are going at it like rabbits :-) Another two matings since I posted the screenshots a few minutes ago.
Another couple of matings, and she had a go at pecking him as he was just about to leave. She is a "Gallus Besom" this one.
She is wanting a fish now.
So far this morning...
She arrived early:
Laddie flew in with straw and landed on her back with it - just a quickie vid:
There have been 3-4 mating attempts, she looks willing but I'm not sure if he's serious or teasing.
Both standing on the nest, quietly for a moment, but now she is chuntering for a fish I guess.
All quiet for a bit...… Lovely morning light on the nest at the moment.
She's been fish-calling (with echo):
A copious PS!
Laddie's been bringing in stuff and...
Not welcome this time, she pecked him away - she seems to have quite an aggressive nature, which could be good for nest & babies protection:
Laddie continues to try but I just saw her tip him off again before he even got going.
