To all my dear friends on the RSPB forum: Happy Winter Solstice and Season’s Greetings!
Tonight, I am celebrating the return of the light. The Winter Solstice marks the lengthening of the days and the homecoming of the Sun.
We are on the cusp of a new decade. In the coming new year, I hope light will triumph over darkness. I wish you all security, well-being, and contentment.
Peace, joy, and justice to all beings for 2020!

Somewhat surreal effects of the sunrise here just now- not as pink & purple to the naked eye but dramatic all the same.
A bit different now:
A wooden Tree which I brought back from Montenegro last year, where they're handmade. The tree breaks in half, with Santa inside, & a tiny snowman inside him.
Edit: just measured- tree is 6" high.
Morning all:
PatO: So not a turkey on the run from the oven then..... :-)
Lindybird: Lovely photo, that last one! A sale at one of the UK's garden centers would be hard for me to resist. Bundle up! That's a cute little ornament - different - a bit like those Russian dolls.
OG: Congrats on getting the church magazine done. I see there's some debate about John the Divine's true identity (according to Wikipedia).
Lovely sunny but cool day here today; we are drying out with possibility of showers on Monday. Grandson in Arizona was hoping to drive from Prescott Valley up to the Grand Canyon today with his girlfriend but they have snow advisories in that area.... He took snow chains with him...
