NBC News has put up a livestream showing live aerial video of the fires burning near downtown Los Angeles. HERE is a link in case anyone wants to see what the scene looks like. It's very powerful. My heart goes out to California.

Annette - it wasn't going to be a big party but he much prefers to experience different countries. They've travelled a bit taking holidays in different areas around the world.
You have been a busy bee in the garden, well done. Perhaps not, Annette, but you and the other volunteers are doing valuable work. Yes we are - December 12th. I for one will not be voting as I am fed up with the lot of them.

AQ - glad the fire season has come to an end for your part of the world. Also that you have passed your eye test.

Diane - at least you are free from the possibility of fire, just wintry weather creeping in then.

LYNETTE - No No, the fire season is just beginning here. What's more it is way too early. Good luck for the new op date. After all the pre-drama, it should be a breeze.

Good Morning. Dry here but cold. OH has gone off to golf, and we were hoping to go to Wales either yesterday or today, but are still awaiting financial events so looks as if we may not get there, yet.

Lynette, good that you got a new appointment for your eye op. Fingers crossed!

Even more trick-or-treaters this year despite the very hot weather late in the day. Less than 2 hours and my sweets bowl was empty. Most groups accompanied by parents and the t-or-ts were prompt with thanks and ”Happy Halloween”. Now for “Escape from the City”, the Aussie version of Escape to the Country.

Don't know when I last posted, but I don't think anything important has happened here - still enjoying the sun before we change to wet and windy tonight. J had to phone for a lift home after work yesterday - he had twisted his ankle on the way in the morning - trod in one of the many potholes on the high street. It was not bad on the flat floors at work, but agony on the pavements. He has walked to work this morning - three consecutive days - never been heard of before! Cleaner is here - and new freezer is due to arrive this morning.

Going for our flu vaccination tomorrow afternoon - usually done with my blood test, but the Health Board has changed things this year and are sending people in, rather than using practice staff - apparently chaotic as people like the phlebotomist ae having to vacate their rooms!
