The 2 chicks were ringed on 4 July and assessed as female. They were given ring numbers JJ0 and JJ2, and later named by popular vote as Mallie and Rannoch. Both weighed 1.49kg on ringing but will weigh a lot more now after a further month's-worth of protein-packed-piscine-parenting. The WT subsequently said they thought Mallie may be male. S/he fledged on 20 July and Rannoch on 27 July.

CATCHUP
10:15 FISH:
There should be 3 leftovers but I had trouble following one of them, so not 100% about the broken arrowed one - but I've seen flies on it:
Rannoch came back for a fish, she was going to take this one:
But relegated it to the back of the nest and flew off with this one instead:
Another FISH - with definitely 2 leftovers on the nest:
That was quite a good fish, actually:
With his next (headless) FISH, Louis thoughtfully swapped it for an older one and left it on the nest for his absent daughter:
No more Rannoch tonight!
Just some rather frantic fairy flyers:

I'm glad to see Louis' crop looked nice and full on his last delivery, no point in fish lying on the nest if he has an empty crop. Mallie was last seen last Tuesday (20 August) so Rannoch must be thinking of going as well soon. Ian
Squealing for another fish, even though she's got one, and indeed, is eating it
