Link to July 2019 thread
The 2 chicks were ringed on 4 July and assessed as female. They were given ring numbers JJ0 and JJ2, and later named by popular vote as Mallie and Rannoch. Both weighed 1.49kg on ringing but will weigh a lot more now after a further month's-worth of protein-packed-piscine-parenting. The WT subsequently said they thought Mallie may be male. S/he fledged on 20 July and Rannoch on 27 July.

Rannoch was first in @ 05:16, she bounced around for 5 minutes and flew off.
She was back @ 05:42 and Mallie joined her a couple of minutes later:
Fish ahoy!
FISH !!! (piece) which Mallie got, no feet involved:
Mallie got it, as reported by MIKE:
Mallie was finished and gone by 06:15, Rannoch waited on, leaping around and off 'n on, and posing:
It was a long wait:
FISH !!! Small whole:
Couldn't see ring number, whoever it was stood at the back of the nest with her back to us and ate it all and flew:
FISH !!! That's more like it! Rannoch had just flown in for it:
She's been looking up every so often but not perturbed by what she sees:
Still eating now, undisturbed.
Louis looked rather pink when he delivered that fish. Blood from the fish, I wonder?
A quick zip back suggests that Rannoch enjoyed her fish until about 11.00 when she flew off with the ample tail end

14.46 Mallie lands calling and very expectant.
A fine looking fish from Louis. The red 'blush' seems to have gone now. Washed by the rain, or fishing.
Louis didn't hang around! And Rannoch landed, watching Louis flying away
A fine looking fish
Rannoch is ignoring Mallie, who calls loudly in between beakfuls!
Rannoch has given up waiting and flown off. There should be enough for the two of them!! There will certainly be some scrap leftovers!
