The 2 chicks were ringed on 4 July and assessed as female. They were given ring numbers JJ0 and JJ2, and later named by popular vote as Mallie and Rannoch. Both weighed 1.49kg on ringing but will weigh a lot more now after a further month's-worth of protein-packed-piscine-parenting. The WT subsequently said they thought Mallie may be male. S/he fledged on 20 July and Rannoch on 27 July.

Hasty CATCHUP from when I last posted.
Rannoch with a scrap rejected by Mallie again:
FISH !!!
Rannoch too late again:
Mallie flew with the tailend:
Rannoch was left with some discards:
She was away and back, a lot of waiting around sitting and standing:
Louis brought this smallish fish for Rannoch, at last, it was a blur:
Mallie turned up and got a bigger fish from Aila:
She didn't leave any for Rannoch but flew off with this much in her foot:
Rannoch returned and waited 4 minutes with occasional calls, no luck:
Last try, under 4 minutes this time:
That was it. Hugs to {{{Rannoch}}} but she's not completely empty :(
