The season so far: LM12 (Laddie) arrived back 15 March and LF15 (Lassie) on 23 March. Lassie laid 3 eggs on 4, 7 and 10 April hatching 11, 12 and 16 May. Sadly on 26 May tragedy struck and the third chick died. The remaining two chicks were ringed on 26 June as follows: #1 Blue PT4 (M) and #2 Blue PT5 (M). Ringing Blog
6th July PT5 fledged
7th July PT4 fledged
Both juveniles have been seen attempting to fish in the Loch. PT4 was successful on 23rd July
Lassie (LF15) has not been recorded as being seen on the nest since early morning on the 25th July - though this requires confirmation from the Lowes team

11:28 Another small(ish) fish from Laddie. Both boys had flown in just before the delivery. PT4 claimed it
11:35 He's thoroughly enjoying it too!

11:46 Fish eaten
Not sure if there was another delivery that ended up over the side, my LS keeps jumping. Will restart my computer to see if that allows me to check Edit: That still hasn't worked, it seems I've lost around a minute of the LS. PT4 was on the right side of the nest as pic shows above, the next, PT5's precariously looking over the side and getting quite flustered (he went back for a second look as well), both boys were shouting
Just after 11:46
12:18 LS is buffering
13:00 LS ok now
13:10 Lowes posted on fb 20 minutes ago (in Celebration of their 50th Anniversary weekend), that Laddie had delivered two fish already today, the above episode I thought was to do with a fish going over the side, PT5's reaction (he took two close looks) appeared to be so

From scroll back (time approximate)
14:15 PT4 was on the nest, he clearly wasn't happy. There was a crow 'cawing' near by so I assumed it was because of this
Then, he appeared to be tracking something and started shouting and flapping his wings - an intruding? osprey (top left)
The intruder? flew over the Loch and headed off to the right, behind the trees
PT4 watched and went into a defensive pose
He seemed to calm down but flew from the nest at 14:17
Around 15:10, PT5 flew onto the nest, PT4 followed (left), both went into defensive mode
Any 'danger' was over within seconds
Just before 15:50 Laddie delivered a fish to the waiting boys
PT4 was slightly quicker to grab it
16:08 Laddie delivered another, PT5 had no competition from his brother to claim this one
16:14 And another to PT4 who had come onto the nest
Both stopped eating momentarily, there was an odd sounding noise (animal/bird related)
16:22 PT5 (right) finishing the fish tail
17:45 Tiddler fish to PT5
17:58 PT5 flew from the nest having eaten his fish, leaving PT4 waiting
Birdies LG DU update.
