  • And now the GEM who was on the nest has vanished.

  • And  the next competitor in the Osprey Staring contest is...

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • Two settled down on the nest a few minutes ago and now they are making an almighty racket.  Is there a parent in the distance to nag at for food?

  • Two on the nest shouting away for food in the evening sun

an d now they've both got up and one has flown off

  • Then the one remaining did a helicopter impression before flying off as well.

and now the invisible chick (actually it just flew onto the cam post) making a fuss

  • The one chick that flew onto the cam post a few moments ago must have gone for a flyabout because he has just flown back on.  Unfortunately it is so quick, one fails to capture the moment.

  • One flew in again and then another

Now the other juve has gone onto the post on the left side of the nest. They are both making a right fuss.

  • Lovely photographs Lynette.

  • Glad to read about fish fest early this morning although it must be time the juves were working on their own fishing skills and isn’t ODIN looking superb.  Thanks for capturing his short stopover on nest AP. Other than mid-flight fish deliveries I haven’t seen him for ages. Stunning photos by Garry Ridsdale. Ospreys are a photographer’s dream – look at the physique and those wings in pic 15- tremendous.  I was surprised at first by the number of photographers present at LOTL when I visited last Saturday and then when I thought about the calm conditions and the diminishing amount of light reflection (glare) as the sun was going down I realised that they had to be there.  Were I a photographer I would have been there every day like that.

Welcome to the Daily Update Margos – you’ll soon get used to the format on here - and thanks to all overnight and daytime regulars for updates, pix and clips. Really enjoyed the chat(s) you’ve had especially about the fish or not fish on nest. Lindybird – Odin’s a star in my house too.  So glad you made it to LG Heron77 and sounds like you were truly impressed.  I look forward to meeting the team when I make it up there - sadly once osps have left (end Aug).  Odin must be a wonderful sight to behold especially in flight.

Two on the nest now as I finish reading updates.  Wind is blowing more fiercely and there is still an almighty racket on the nest.  One just flew off and solitary osp is punctuating silence with noisy cheeping.  This one sounds like two osps at once when he/she gets going! Thanks for your pix Lynette

  • Now anothe youngster has arrived. I think there are three about, anticipating fish deliveries. 2 on the nest, one on the cam post.
