Yum yum, how I love a simple roast chicken.

We're doing roast chicken, tonight Heather. Can you save me a large slice of lemon drizzle cake, please??

Latest update on redecorating. You may recall that we 'did' the low walls in our conservatory. We thought that it was taking a long time to dry, and my OH said he'd had difficulty putting on a 2nd coat of paint, but then we just forgot about it. Now, we're finding that in some places it looks patchy already, plus when Bonnie puts her nose on it, it leaves a mark!

It was very cheap paint, which in fact I'd chosen because of the colour. But now I think we regret it, as usually we go for a brand name. So today, my OH took my colour chart and went to buy another tin, in another brand. We hope to rub off the old paint he just put on, and redo it this week.

I'm home, had a lovely afternoon. Had to bring my lemon drizzle cake home, no room for it after the chicken!

It hasn't really stopped raining here and the house felt cold when I got home. Oh dear....

Hope that the new paint is more successful, LINDY. I'm no expert but middle daughter rents her house and when the bathroom walls were painted by contractors she had much the same problems as you describe. So maybe, not good paint, as you say.

HeatherB - so pleased to hear you had a lovely lunch with dau's and came home to prosecco and strawberries, can't be bad.

OG - Couldn't agree more. The outsourcing agencies often fall down as they seem to be only in it for making a profit. I know it is buisness but playing with peoples lives, well, that's another thing. Do hope J manages next weeks appointment and then you can put in your complaint. Sounds like you've got this gardening lark almost sewn up now. What a lovely OH you have.

Not going to church in the morning as we have our quarterly Songs of Praise in the afternoon. Instead of evening service at 6pm we have it at 4pm followed by tea and cake ( and they are always scrummy),

OG - It does make you wonder who they employ - have they not brought them up to scratch with policy and all that - very frustrating.

AQ - sounds as though you had a lovely meal to finish off your birthday. Belated Happy Birthday to you.

Been cloudy for the last couple of days with just a hint of sunshine although not as chilly.

Lindy - hope you have better success 2nd time around with the painting. Unfortunately OH felt he is unable to do decorating now due to medical conditions he has so late last year we had someone in to do the conservatory and also repair the front rendering of our house. Only thing now is to get someone in to overhaul the garden but it takes money.

HeatherB - glad you had a lovely lunch, and the lemon drizzle cake - what couldn't eat it so brought it home, wing it down here. lol.
