Tiger Signature
Hi Karen. I've always viewed the day of laying as day 1. But given the variability in laying to hatch dates I've also used Chloe and Tiger's stats which give the history for any given pair of birds. I'm not sure if there's extra data for the last couple of years on any site?

Karen W said:I am wondering how others calculate the laying to hatching date. I have always regarded the following date after laying as Day 1 and add 37 days to that for the hatching date and am wondering if others calculate this way too or regard the laying date as Day 1. Interested to know others' views.
I have always regarded the day after an egg is laid as Day 1 because that is when the egg is a day old.
If you count the day of laying as day 1 (and some people do) you invite large errors. For example if an egg is laid at one minute to midnight it becomes two days old after a minute. That cannot be right.
