DAILY UPDATES - Loch Garten nest - MAY 2019

The silence is deafening, not least because we haven't even had sound* for a week or two, let alone an osprey on the nest.

*This is to reduce demand on the bandwidth, along with turning off the Feeder cam stream.  It seems that the reason for the reduced bandwidth cannot yet be fathomed.

But who knows what the month of May will bring?  First-time returners are due and there are reports of ospreys flying up thru the country.  Hang in here, everyone!

    ‘Twas the eve before National Tap Dance Day, when all across the nest,
    Not a creature was stirring, tho’ a dandelion did its best;
    A stonechat? A redstart? provided a little distraction,
    But even a pine marten failed to give lasting satisfaction.
    ‘I can’t even find a flying insect or a slug’,
    Was probably posted with a sigh and a shrug;
    I have given up predicting – I think its for the best,
    About what will happen on this world famous nest.

    Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

    I have given up predicting – I think its for the best,
    About what will happen on this world famous nest.

    I'm taking another break before 'doing' catchup etc, due to behind-the-scenes traumas, trials and tribulations ;)

    No-one overnight.

    I lost half an hour from 14:30-15:00 approx:

    No-one found all day to 15:40.

    Never persecuted. I love your references to no slugs or insects or the tangled webs the spider weaves.

    Not sure you should feel flattered either......... I just speak the truth as I see it and I have said it once and I will say it again, I am in awe. You do an amazing job. Your technical skills are now legendary and the hours you must spend reviewing all the footage is amazing. I just wish I had the skills to produce a visual update to the famous 'Scylla mission control', but I don;t, so my inadequate words of praise are all I have to offer.
