The silence is deafening, not least because we haven't even had sound* for a week or two, let alone an osprey on the nest.
*This is to reduce demand on the bandwidth, along with turning off the Feeder cam stream. It seems that the reason for the reduced bandwidth cannot yet be fathomed.
But who knows what the month of May will bring? First-time returners are due and there are reports of ospreys flying up thru the country. Hang in here, everyone!

---oooOOOooo---
Korky the celebrations are still planned as far as I know, and it is the 60th Anniversary, maybe a slip of your finger

Lynn L said:Morning all, have not been posting much as there has been nothing to see or say really. A real sad state indeed. Another week now, so who knows what may happen (I seem to have been saying that for many weeks now)! Have been looking in at the other Osprey nests, good to see the ladies sitting on their eggs. Such a shame we don't have that here! Chins up Opspreyholics, as someone said still a little time left yet for a couple to move in, and get going!! Thanks Scylla for your continued updates, photos and humour.
---oooOOOOOooo---
Catlady I feel the same, I do hope that there is still time for the nest to be occupied, I feel so sad and it just depresses me to see it lying empty every day.
It is Scylla's resilience and dedication that keeps this thread going, so Thank You for that SCYLLA, because it would be even sadder to see the thread slip into the depths of the forum.
Starling said:Thank you Mary for above info. I really hope a pair of youngsters arrive before then and take up residence!
Oh I really hope so too Starling, even if its a pair that are too late to lay but bond for next season (if they hopefully return)..... Would never have imagined this happening at LG.

Absolutely Mary, I couldn't agree more. Not only is this thread kept going so magnificently but scylla contributes so much to other nest news too. To lighten the mood, perhaps someone could find the 'Mission Control' photo please? (I'll have a go....)
EDIT; Here's the link to Mike's thread
And here's the photo!
Yes that photo looks very familiar Korky

HA! Just seen this thanks Mary. It's because I always deduct at least 10 years off anything to do with age
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
Birdies LG DU update.
5 years since you posted that picture Mike! Ye gods. We'd be lost without Scylla, that's what ..........
