WOW - that was quick.
33 just flew off a couple of minutes ago after placing the stick and has landed with a large fish!!
33 needs to be very, very careful for it may still be alive and two chicks are under him / on top of or near that fish!
With 33 coming in I was so focused on the freshly delivered fish and the chicks that I did not notice if #4 got any fish from Maya.
Maya took a quick comfort break and the two eldest chicks have surrounded 33. He is slipping them some fish :-)
Maya is tidying up, placing the stick and little #4 is making its way over to dad! Hopefully 33 will give it some fish
And 33 stretches over with a bit for #4
But now #4 is curled up as Maya moves around placing the stick 33 has not long brought in. It soon gets up again but the elder chicks are back too for food and blocking.
Poor wee mite - #4 is trying so hard :-(
3rd piece I have seen 33 give #4
33 now stopped feeding and Maya moves round and takes the fish.
Maya just fell over the chicks as she was moving the fish! Hope they are OK >>>> All seem fine :-)
Now Maya takes over feeding the chicks. They are needing so much more now! The eldest chicks have retreated and are following 33 around while Maya gets a good bit of fish into #3.
33 fiddles with a stick and blocks the view!
Soon Maya leaves that fish and moves to another and continues eating / feeding one of the eldest chicks that has made its way up again. 33 continues to fiddle with the stick!
and now along with one of the larger chicks, Maya is feeding #4
33 flies off and feed continues - #4 is getting a few pieces
All looking much calmer now as feeds are becoming quite frantic!
Chicks lying down so full and Maya now walks away from the fish and starts cleaning up.
Also, I have just noticed that #4's head now has a little dark patch forming.
Off for the day now ... happy viewing everyone BFN
Many thanks for your super reporting Karen!
