Continued from April 2019
The season so far:
Mrs G arrived back 25 March and Aran on 1 April. They are currently incubating 3 eggs laid 13, 16 and 19 April with the first expected to hatch around 20 May.

I don't want her incubating without Aran. No no no no no . no. Better eggs not hatching than what happened to EJ.
Mrs G is clearly agitated about Aran's non return. She keeps looking around and is not relaxed as she usually is whilst incubating.
Tiger Signature
She has been back to the perch, on the nest, and 17.19 flown again.
It just so reminds me of LG in 2017. EJ stayed with the two chicks and one egg after Odin disappeared, then chick #3 hatched. The chicks died, but it wasn't until the third had died that she went fishing for herself on 22 May. She hadn't eaten since early on 18 May. We can but hope that Aran succeeds and returns the valiant hero.
EJ would have been 22 years old this year. Mrs G started breeding at Glaslyn in 2005, so could be a little younger than EJ.
We must remember the long flights over the Sahara desert when osprey would have gone without food for many days.
Mrs G is now back incubating.
I re read this from Wednesday : so Patily this answers our question. Aran returned to the nest fishless on Wednesday, Then the T happened and ruined Thursday and as we now know, Aran has not been back to the nest today

Aran left the Glaslyn nest at 08:22 this morning and we did not see him again for another twelve hours. Mrs G did not seem too pleased to see him when he eventually returned to the nest without a fish. Aran appeared to have been followed in by an intruding osprey and he was soon back off the nest again. Hopefully Mrs G will get a late meal tonight!
There has been a lot of intruder activity during the last few days with more than one intruding osprey being seen. Yesterday we spotted a male osprey with a blue ring on the right leg, but unfortunately, we were not able to read the ring.
