Yikes !!! I thought I must have missed it but it's all there waiting for attention :)))
Thank you, everyone, for the super captures and info :)
I can't believe they arrived together - but they did! ;-D
Three matings altogether, only the first successful, IMHO. They were on the nest nearly 13 minutes, this is cut down to 5 but no significant activity missing - you know how they like to stand and (males) mantle and (females) look a bit nonplussed ;)
UNCUT VERSION:
The first was the best ;)
He sat here for ages after his second nestcupping:

Early-morning snaps:
Aila toying with furry stick:
Aila waiting:
Louis's wing:
This is the roughest cut EVER! Just to show some of the morning's events, including a quarter-fish for poor Aila:
I've made it "unlisted" as it's too rough for publication ;)
FISH! But I think it's a small piece again...
EDIT - No! It was a decent whole fish :))) Sorry, Louis. And a civilised handover and promptish fly-off. I'd better to a video for the record :o
Well she didn't actually rush off with the fish, but didn't dally overly:
All behind like a duck's ahem!
Louis brought in another good fish, headless this time. Aila wasn't really interested but they got interrupted by the Hooded Crow, who later did a flyby. Louis kept picking at his fish, Aila flew off and brought back a good-sized piece of bark, some of which ended up in the nestcup.
Oh well, I'm flagging already, see for yourselves ;)
Louis brought back some fish:
This time Aila took it gratefully and flew with it:
She returned to the nest to eat the tail - bet you can't see it, it's too camouflaged :(
She settled down contentedly, it appeared, and now 'n then sorted nest materials within reach.
We've been in a very good patch for much of today :)))
Thanks for all your reports pictures.. A rather dreich night , so want to send an Osprella
even though I know those beautiful feathers are water proof!
It is raining fairly heavily now. Aila is really not settled. She hashbeen standing low over the egg, shifting from side to side but properly lowering herself to incubate.
