Yikes !!! I thought I must have missed it but it's all there waiting for attention :)))
Thank you, everyone, for the super captures and info :)
I can't believe they arrived together - but they did! ;-D
Three matings altogether, only the first successful, IMHO. They were on the nest nearly 13 minutes, this is cut down to 5 but no significant activity missing - you know how they like to stand and (males) mantle and (females) look a bit nonplussed ;)
UNCUT VERSION:
The first was the best ;)
He sat here for ages after his second nestcupping:

Still feel lucky and my trigger finger is keyboard smart today.. this was around 1.08PM
Louis did not stay long, come on Aila he had a fish for you
Very grainy snaps :(
Then nestcupping, of course ;)
Now just waiting...
I am so sorry to see there is still no news of Aila. How very sad for Louis, for the nest, and for all who have invested their time and effort into making the nest ready for their return.
I guess this is another case of watching life in the raw. We choose to watch, so must take the pain as well as the joys. But we also learn of the trials and tribulations they suffer. Aila must have made at least six successful migrations, and for something to have occurred so close to her chosen nest and mate is just heart breaking, and like LG, I also feel for the team.
Another lovely evening.

I echo SHEILA's thoughts.
(I keep losing posts by dragging a snap slightly inaccurately - it was the Chaffinch snap wot did it this time >:( )
Now cannot remember what the first video was, recording some of Louis's day, hope this isn't a dupe.
Now be careful! Here's the Chaffinch who took over the Robin's perch for a minute:
Another visit - under a minute - checked nestcup briefly:
Aww thank you Scylla. Every capture of him is so special now. Will he wait for another beau, will he defend the nest, will Aila reappear, will he move on? We can only watch and wait, I fear.
