Update from Threave - still no sign of Blue KC
Glad to hear the walkway has dried out, as I am hoping to visit in April.
I have been virtual-visiting some of the US nests and was struck how fortunate the UK ospreys are, even near habitation. I havent seen much in the way of plastic and baler twine etc. I know there have been a few instances but i haven't seen anything like this. Boulder County Fairground Site -Colorado. The pair returned to the nest a couple of days ago and have started their 2019 redecorating plan...
There is another nest ?where, now, but it was at the built 'in' the back of a medium sized satellite dish also decorated with multicoloured plastic.
Roll on the Fall of The Plastic Planet,if you see what i mean.

Gary Jones has posted more photos on his FB page and says:
Female Intruder at Llyn Brenig NestI was keen to get back in the Osprey Hide at Llyn Brenig this morning, in the hope that it would see the return of Blue 24's partner, and at about 10am huge excitement as 24 started to mantle in the nest, a sure sign something was going to happen, and sure enough another Osprey appeared, trying to land on the nest. But after the few skirmishes as 24 held her ground on the nest, and eventually took off chasing the intruder a quick check of the camera revealed it wasn't him, but an unringed Osprey that I am sure is female based on its size. It couldn't have happened at a worse time photographically as the sun was directly opposite and the glare of the water was immense, so I was mighty relieved with some shots to record it. It took her a good while to settle back down at the nest, but a couple of hours later she had settled and was busy preening, and still looking to the sky :-( Llyn Brenig

Thank you Richard. I had just watched a video on the Balgavies site showing the eviction of Canada geese as an example how the could get rid of them, and had that in mind as I posted. Sorry

"Good news from the platform today. Both ospreys around for most of the day. Mating frequently and nest building. Had a good look at the female and, although we couldn't see a ring, we're confident that it's Blue KC."
