Hi everyone, It was quite a day yesterday. Titch showing off his flying skills, landings not so good
Didn't see much as was out for most of the morning. Afternoon had its moments, with fish deliveries, intruder alerts, and flying practice In all a typical osprey family day again.
What will tomorrow bring!!!! Titch is home alone, EJ , after a late night snack with junior, flew off about 11pm to roost. The other two are probably nearbye but Junior still prefers the safety of the nest.
Happy viewing night shift and we do value all your contributions as it keeps us informed of whats gone on or not as the case may be overnight. Hope I'm not being pompous about that.
Take care all. Night, night.

He's just gorgeous Linda - he was always my favourite from hatching ... because of the way he got stuck in at feeding time :-)) Watching him yesterday on his practice flyabouts was just magical! ... he is just so excited with himself!!!

Joan - that happens sometimes, I just ignore it and go on posting, at least they come out right in the end.

I quickly came back on site when I read a post of yours earlier, didn't want to miss the action. Was'nt that fantastic. Now he knows he can do it in the rain as well as windy and dry weather.
Just popping in and out this morning, so getting plenty of HW done. That rain is so persistent.

I always loved the way he carefully inserted himself in the middle at feeding time, to be sure of his share! And have seen several fledgings now, and 'new flyers' but have never seen one so excited about it all! Its just such fun to watch. I felt that we were all a bit hard on him expecting him to fly so soon after #2, as after all he is much younger than the other two, but he was sooo jeaous when he saw them flying around, I think he went before he was really ready & that's why he has had problems with his landing technique.
Alan said he was going up to Rutland Water today, Hope he sees one of the chicks flying from Manton Bay as it has been confirmed that it fledged earlier. Bit off subject.
Rain is pouring down and one chick is calling, could be the eldest from below but not sure.
First of all thanks for all the pics and commentary from yesterday. Always glad to be able to catch up. Titch was thinking about it for a while before he decided to take off. Then the landing and I heard cheering and knew he had made a safe landing. Not the best of weather to be doing it in bless him/her. Titch is my favourite this year because he was so feisty right from the beginning and looked at some previous pics where he/she picked its place in the line up for food and did very well most of the time. Still pouring down and think I can hear ospreys calling at the moment.

Here's looking at you babe
I can see at least one other osprey flying around ... maybe drying off their feathers!
