Osprey Sightings 2019

It was 'Beaky' (Paul's name for the unringed female!) on the Middlebere nest, but a ringed bird was also seen on another nest (probably CJ7 but not confirmed). I'm on nest watch tomorrow morning so hope for some action!

I was lucky enough to have several sightings at Arne this morning of what I think was the same bird (Beaky). At one point she flew right over my head! What a joy.

Looking at the video I'd agree it's the same bird and it seems to have a gap in each inner wing and possibly a tail feather missing?

Edit: Yes, the feathers are quite distinctive, aren't they? Good for recognition hopefully.

Alison, Lucky you, to be volunteering there and it is fabulous that you saw this Osprey during your shifts! I'm green all over! Two females for any returning male to choose from--fingers crossed that 2 or more 2017 birds return!
