Plenty of shenanigans yesterday, with mating heard and an intruder - not sure if we saw him or not, he may have been perched below the nest but that could have been GJ.

What a treat was in store for us late last night when a Pine Marten came and took an egg! And just now he took another, hooray!

I'm waiting for a call from Dell about my leftover problems.
Time to go, so sorry I won't be here to see any reactions to the "refurbished" nest. SYAL!
Sleep well Scylla. Thank you for the detail of the Pine Marten's foray on the nest.
What seems amazing is that it has taken this long for it, or any other predator, to take these eggs.
Birdies LG DU update.
No one on the nest at present.
Good Morning MIKE and Everybody So a PM has got the eggs at last Great captures SCYLLA I'm surprised the eggs were still edible
Morning everyone. Does look a bit of a mess. I bet she doesn't bat an eyelid.

Maybe he was looking for egg number 2 from 2016?....
Helloooooo everyone.
Well I never, Mating, defending and a Pine Marten stealing the eggs while I've been MIA. I bet they tasted yuk after all this time. What a mess it made of the nest too. Thanks so much for the vids and snaps Scylla.
I'm reading back and trying to catch up, after my enforced disappearing act. What a great pic of EJ with the fish this morning at AO. Thanks for posting it here 25mac
Off I go again, and watch the bird mating with EJ on Scylla's vid. I am not convinced that it is GJ, but as I've been out of the loop, I may be wrong.
Change of view
Good morning to all who is here. Well EJ's eggs are gone, sad as it was to see that happen, it was what was needed. Always sad to see eggs uhatched just lying there but now she can forget about them and not keep seeing them. Bet they were very unfresh!! What a mess it left the nest in. Now some time left for EJ to get herself sorted with a male for next year, which one though!
Hope to see you soon Moffer, once you are logged on.
