HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
In case anyone missed the exciting announcement, the NASA Curiosity Rover found preserved organic material, as well as a mysterious level of methane gas, on Mars. These two discoveries indicate that Mars well could have sustained life in the past, and life could even exist there now in some form. NASA Press ReleaseThe Independent, UK

In reply to Diane in Indiana:
Evening all and THANK YOU DIANE!
Was gone all day today. Hit all the stores (typically I'm zooming in and out); left no sales tag unturned. Came home with hose bib connection, new sheets, huge desk calendar for daughter, Sound of Music DVD for Ms. D and and metal hooks to put in pegboard so I can hang up some tools in the garage and a cheapy t-shirt for me.
Have a good Sunday all - did anyone feel the 3.9 earthquake in Lincolnshire?
In reply to Annette in SoCal:
Good Morning, and thank you to Diane for starting us off again. Exciting news this week, that there's life on Mars!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Limpy! I hope you have a good day.
(I tried to post a pic but it won't post :-( )
In reply to Lindybird:
Good morning, all! Limpy is very kindly accompanying me to the Walk for Parkinson's venue where he will hopefully spend a few chilled out hours snapping the local rooks and (hopefully!) buzzards.
Many thanks to everyone who has sponsored me - currently, I'm over £400!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
In reply to Clare:
Happy Birthday Limpy and good luck to you Clare.
Birdies LG DU update.
In reply to Mike:
Hope the day goes really well for you both, Clare and Limpy.
In reply to Alison Copland:
Yay, Clare!! - I meant to note the date of your walk on my calendar. Good Luck and I hope you both have a good day!
Fine sunny day. S-i-l came to clean gutters and a few other tasks that OH cannot manage anymore. Family came too, for lunch. Luckily I had a large batch of sausage rolls in freezer, supplemented with party pies, spring rolls & salad. A regular Little People’s “game” is to take pieces of a puzzle, one they have outgrown, and one child hides the pieces around the house – under cushions, behind furniture, etc. The seeker gave up before all were found. OH & I are finding the more obvious. Next time I clean, I need to find the last 2 pieces. LOL
Today I posted pics of a lovely window in a Wagga Wagga church. It features Aussie birds & animals. If you scroll back, there is another by the same artist.

Good morning - what a busy start to the day on here! Happy Birthday to LIMPY, and Good luck to CLARE!
Such a hot night here, having been missed by Saturday's storms. None of us going to church this morning - in fact J is still snoring in his bed!
Received email from Dau#2 last evening, with photos from their wedding day; her boys were there, and young Miriam too.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
In reply to original goldfinch:
LIMPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY and good luck to Clare.
