What an uneventful day we just survived :o We heard that the cold weather accompanied by high winds all day prevented many birds from carrying out their usual fishing routines, and GJ was among them... until evening, when he turned up for the first time on-cam with a very fine fat headless fish.
This could be compliments of MOFFER or LIMPY, who both posted a similar batch of snaps. It shows the girth of the fish very well.
The rest of the evening was plagued with cam up-n-downs but it seems to be steady now.
EJ has looked rather doddery, maybe the windiness kept her off-balance. She has settled with a good tail portion of fish for company, only the fin showing at midnight;
IMAGICAT
Oh Yuk! Came back for a quick lookin and found EJ struggling with the fish skin I think she's given up Settles on the eggs and cleans her beak
From this
to this. Who do you see EJ?(2 mins pass)
Is this the Cuckoo? (It's not an Osprey)
Started to call close by.
I think so Moffer. That or the Dyfi one!

EJ remains alert, checking the eggs every now and then. Still raining, but not quite as hard

[/quote]Mike managed to capture the Dyfi cuckoo sitting on one of the perches behind the nest earlier today.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
9.52. Poor EJ sitting on a rather wet and soggy nest. The resilience of these birds amaze me.
EJ seems transfixed with something in the cam tree
Morning Moffer, Maj, Korky, Clare & anyone out there. Working from home today so having sneaky peaks at the cams too - won't duplicate the amazing pictures you're all posting!
What a soggy, soggy day. After last night's whopper, I can't imagine GJ is any hurry to go fishing in this rain...
