Link to last post on Dyfi Osprey Project – April 2018
Summary of the season so far:
Monty arrived back 4 April. Sadly Blue 12/Glesni has not returned however a new female, Blue 3J(13) who arrived at the Dyfi around 4 April has paired up with Monty and they are now incubating three eggs - #1 laid 22 April, #2 laid 25 April and #3 on 28 April and are due to hatch later this month.
But until then, hopefully we can keep tracks on Gwynant and what he gets up to and also learn what 3J is to be called. And last but no means least, we await Ems’ tribute to Glesni and no doubt many of us will wish to post a few words here too.
Posting that I missed a change over as Monty is now sitting.
Here you are Clare!

Birdies LG DU update.
Well done on capturing the cuckoo, Mike!
Thank you Alison. Fluke really but the sound was so loud it had to be close!
3J returns. Monty looks as if to say "What do you want. I've not been here long?"
Looking back it seems Monty didn't move!
3J is on the nest now.

Same here. I am assuming they changed the protocol from http, or https, to ftp or something alike for testing purposes. Which may make a huge difference if your internet access is well-protected against any hacking or unsafety. Not so much if your safety-protocols are a tad lower. Anyways, apart from the freezing that everyone seems to be complaining about, i hardly get any moving images at all. Unless i switch off the safety-precautions. :p In which case i have the freezing issues just like they are reported. And i had no problems at all before anyone started “fixing” anything. I am not going to bother HQ with any of this (yet), just hoping that someone code-savvy will come in and sort things out. It often is in the finer details, as in “how many wrong or right “spaces” have been left in or out, which are usually hard to spot for anyone with not too much coding- and solving-problems-experience.
Ok, i should have put this elsewhere probably. #babbling #techtalk. You are not alone Gardenbirder!
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
Otter. The answer is here in their Facebook post
I have always had difficulty with the Dyfi cam, I wondered if it was something to do with the live chat which would not turn off.
