At the moment it is an empty nest.
When I first looked I thought it was a small bird to the right of the nest, but its been static for a while so must be a bit of bark. :-)

Some people think that there are two males around. Any evidence for this?
Tiger Signature
On FB we heard from a usually rather reliable source re Lowes, that there is indeed still not just the one male osp. That it would be interesting to pay attention to how “the male” looks...
And that LF is solliciting from both and ehm, open to avances from both?
Best we see for ourselves if we can spot differences in looks and signatures (head plumage)? Would that be possible on cam?
Of course it is interesting that the Lowes blog does not mention this at all.
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
I heard this as well, so will be keeping an eye out.

Nest is empty at the moment, but they have been coming and going throughout the day.

i was watching too Starling, and thinking or better wondering whether we could get good pics of the head colourings.
i learned one thing: the wind moving the feathers and the light of day, have a lot to say as to how it all looks. Spanish dancer or not, ha. Oh well.
i think Lassie in the back, Laddie closerby. Anyone?
They do seem to be looking out - perhaps there is another osprey out there?

I agree with this, I said as much earlier when Laddie first arrived, all sorts of things affect how they look, wind, rain, light etc.
Is the sun shining, surely not :)
