Pandy said: Long have we watched every move that she makes “The Queen of Loch Garten,” we say Note her fish-calling, chick-raising, minding the nest And keeping intruders at bay Why did she leave us so early last year? We humans are eager to know Was it just too much stress, losing all but her home? What instinct had told her to go? Filled with such doubts, we all questioned her fate Would year number fifteen occur? Then with nonchalant landing, all blind to our angst The beautiful EJ returns!
Long have we watched every move that she makes
“The Queen of Loch Garten,” we say
Note her fish-calling, chick-raising, minding the nest
And keeping intruders at bay
Why did she leave us so early last year?
We humans are eager to know
Was it just too much stress, losing all but her home?
What instinct had told her to go?
Filled with such doubts, we all questioned her fate
Would year number fifteen occur?
Then with nonchalant landing, all blind to our angst
The beautiful EJ returns!
Whoever among us was convinced that we would never see EJ again will have been thrilled to have been surprised by Her Majesty yesterday.
May she receive the strong support of a good mate that she deserves!
EJ's return, for those who weren't here:
During EJ's visit to her nest, there were hardly any bottom-of-pic glitches, as if they held their breath in honour of her ;)

Good morning all, Mike I have just looked, nest is empty. Ian
Thank you for that beautiful video SCYLLA of the wonderful queen's return
Have we heard anything from the centre? They must be over the moon
Patily, I don't think they are open until 29 March. There is a post about it somewhere but I can't even recall on which thread. Ian
PS - there was a Facebook post yesterday, again I can't remember where I saw it (not on FB as I am not a user).
So good to see the DU back and, of course, the amazing EJ. I don't know what force in the ether made me tune in when she landed but I also shouted out in astonishment although I was convinced she would return - this has been HER nest for many years!
Also good to see the familiar names of posters have returned to the fray - plus new devotees, I'm sure but, as always, special thanks to the video posters who make sure we do not miss special moments with particular thanks to Scylla and all her hard work.
Fingers crossed that EJ acquires a worthy partner. I adored the handsome Odin but he has not proved strong enough in the last two years...

Morning all - lovely to see the DU back up and running, thanks Scylla. Also for Pandy's lovely poem and your beautiful capture and vid of EJ.
I was so excited yesterday, I was "liking" every post in all threads that I read. I will try to cut back today as some people must get dozens of "like" notifications. Ian
Good morning all :) What a wonderful start to the first DU of the year. Great poem Pandy, lovely photo and vid Scylla. I've been around for about an hour and not seen EJ yet. Chances are that she is off fishing/eating, and as the VC isn't open yet, we won't get an off cam view of her.
Good Morning, Everyone. What a brilliant day yesterday was, in the history of the famous LG nest.
"Welcome back, to our LG Queen......
But how I wish I knew, just where you've been!"
