EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Thank you Mary. Another wonderful photo by Darren! It's almost an EJ Whopper!

Got some photos from Darren last night. He says he won't make it back to the loch for about 1.1/2 weeks now, so probably this will be the last photos from him of the Balgavies ospreys this season. Big Sigh!!!
Maybe others who visit may send in photos to the Facebook Page though.
A great bit of news though is this
Isn't that fantastic, I wonder if BF recognised his son :-)
My grateful thanks goes to Darren for sharing all his wonderful photos with us for yet another season, without his generous nature this thread wouldn't be half as good.
Green BF is up there as one of my favourite Ospreys, he is a real, mean, fishing machine LOL.... at 14 he is getting on in years, but I for one cannot wait to hear of his arrival in 2019.
One of the juveniles with a fish that BF had dropped off. (from Montrose Basin probably)

I agree, we all must be grateful to Darren for sharing his wonderful photos.
And a big THANK YOU MARY for keeping us informed with your posts.
Agree completely, Mary and Roberto. Thanks to you and to Darren and to the other photographers.
Kind regards, Ann
Thanks Roberto and Ann :-)
Here is Darren's report from last night. LINK to BALGAVIES FB latest photos.
a few of the lovely juveniles.
May they all make a safe migration and come back to us next year. Haste Ye Back Balgavies Family!
Darren’s Calendars sold out in record time. If he plans on doing a re-run I will keep you posted. :-)
If not it will be next year.
Lovely photos and an thrilled to hear news of YD a favorite of mine
Thank you
Been on holiday, so here is a catch up with the Balgavies Facebook Page.
SAD NEWS for Ollie
PHOTOS OF GREEN BF and his son BLUE YD taken by Harry Spence at Guardbridge, a known haunt for Blue YD
PHOTO OF GREEN BF with his catch taken by Jackie Her
WONDERFUL PHOTOS OF BLUE YD by Barry Ferguson taken at Guardbridge.
PHOTO OF ONE OF THE BALGAVIES JUVENILES by Craig Ramone
Only one juvenile left at the Loch.
Also picked up this little snippet from Darren
WHITE LP was hatched at a nest in Killin in 2008, and according to Sue C's ringing information she was kept from a nest in Angus by geese in 2010. Which I seem to remember chat in the hide when I first went to Balgavies about geese being on the nest. So a bit of contradiction there :-)
Also note that WHITE UF according to Sue bred at Balgavies from 2012, mother of BLUE YD.
Good morning Mary. Good to see you back with us.
Birdies LG DU update.
What a wonderful collation of information Mary, thank you. Very sad about Ollie. But great to see Blue YD - I remember SWT talking about him as he was ringed about the same time as Blue 44, Lady's last chick, who didn't survive her first year
