EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
I am so glad you persevered Mary and eventually managed to post these beautiful photos. Fingers crossed, no more problems.
I do hope Darren will be around Balgavies again this season - he really takes some stunning photos.
Yes lets hope that is the last of the disappearing posts Karen.
Darren will certainly be there, as will the other guys who are right into photography, we are so lucky with the quality of the photos we get from them, who needs a webcam when we have them around :-)
Good to know Mary, Darren and the other guys will be around. Yes we are indeed lucky.
I wonder if we will see Blue YD around Balgavies again? I will never forget the frustration following his progress home only for the transmitted to fail on the final leg. I truly was jumping for joy when he was spotted.
Yes Karen if I remember correctly he stopped transmitting somewhere around the Northumberland Coast, it gives us hope for all those birds with trackers on that suddenly stop transmitting, maybe they are not gone after all, one of the BIG highlights for me was when Blue AE was found in December several years after his tracker ceased to function. :-) :-) will never forget receiving that news! LOL
I think you're right Mary, Blue YD was as far up as Northumberland. I would really like to hear of him having found a nest and mate.
Personally I would not trust the trackers now - far too many gone wonky and unless the body is recovered, I tend now to believe all is still well and every chance they may show up some day.
And as for Rothie (Blue AE) - well I still have the bump from bouncing of the ceiling ROTFL Absolutely one of the biggest highlights. I wonder if Rothie will ever show up at the Lowes again? Another one I would like to hear settled with a nest and mate.
Perhaps this season :-)

I am not sure if it was mentioned in this thread (apologies if it was) but there was apparently a batch of cheaper transmitters in use for a while which might explain the high number of failures. Ian
LATEST FROM BALGAVIES FACEBOOK PAGE.
Guess the Date and Time an Osprey will land on the nest (may even be a prize for the winner).
Thanks for the link Mary, I am not a Facebook user otherwise I would have made a guess. Ian
Ian if you tell me what your guess is I will post it for you.
