The purpose of this thread is to record the day-to-day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2018 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
Details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Last year we were thrilled to see both Maya and Blue 33(11) return within hours of each other on the 22 March and I am sure I speak for us all in wishing them both a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
This was "Blue33" on his own on the nest earlier - he does look our way a couple of times. Shortened.

Aww surely it must be 33? He is very much at home and relaxed.
If it isn't 33, then welcome back to Rutland! It is jjust so good to see two early birds.

oh my goodness - I stopped looking to cook tea and do some housework and look what happens! Fantastic to have 2 ospreys so early.
Final evening session - Maya leaves early :(
(There's a browser-refresh at a crucial moment so I had to leave some of it in.)
.
If it is Blue33, how remarkable that they should both return so very early :o
Evening all, I have only followed LG regularity and dipped in and out of the others, but on reading yesterday that Maya returned and keeping up since, me thinks this nest will be being followed also! Great to see you back Scylla and others as well.
Re viewing the nest, I have tried to re set a new link and picked up Karen's link in the first post and still can't acess it, very strange. The two black boxes come up with the arrow in each but will not open.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Catlady, I have tested the link opening post and it is working fine - MS Edge/Chrome! Could it be your browser as I find when on my tablet I need to access the webcam via Puffin. Hope that helps.
I'm off now ... I wonder what tomorrow will bring!
Hi Karen and thanks. There must be something different this year that as I am unable to view via my Apple iPad which uses Safari. I have many different Osprey, Peregrine, and others that I had set and viewed with no problems, but if I switch and go in via the Puffin Browser, it works fine, just a bit of a pest.
