  • That's a nice idea, Annette. I buried one of my favourite cats in the garden, in her favourite place to sit, in the shade of a bush. I still think of her. We had named her "Clover" as she was a rescued kitten and we told her she'd landed in clover when I picked her out and took her home. Actually, she picked me, as in a room full of cats & kittens, she was the one who climbed all over me!

Dibnlib, I'm so pleased that you're feeling much better and able to walk so far. It must be a relief.

I hope that Lynette managed to see the Doc today.

OG - I know it sounds as if we're on permanent holidays, but we have been spending our retirement making up for lost time, as for the 1st 30 years of our marriage we had hardly any at all, except for a couple of very wet weeks in Cornwall. Some years we had no recreation at all, no weekends away even, and hardly any social life - we were too busy working. Now, thanks to my OHs hard work we have the means to get out and about.

It's been cold here but no settled snow, yet. My OH has been feeling a bit snuffly so is not sure if he wants to go around a chilly golf course tomorrow, but we'll see what the morning brings.

  • Goodness! - I see that Annette has been posting whilst I was writing, but also I seem too have missed a whole lot of other posts, including Clares pictures! .......off to investigate!

  • Forgot to say, Pat, that I never cease to be surprised at how short tempered and rude people can be, especially behind the wheel of a car. No one seems to have any patience any more, and they even look surprised if you are courteous!

  • Will catch up tomorrow! Thanks for all news and pics.

  • Lindy - if your OH is foolish enough to walk round a freezing, possibly snowy golf course tomorrow, suggest he takes a coloured ball!  I once played a nine-hole course on a very frosty day, all alone, with a white ball.  I couldn't find it on the ninth fairway, although I knew I'd hit it down the middle.  When I came round again, on the ninth/eighteenth fairway, there was my ball, lying on the now green grass where the frost had disappeared!  Oh, and make sure he wears gloves and a hat, however silly it looks ...!

  • He normally feels the cold, Pat, so I wouldn't be surprised if he had on two hats!! LOL!!

  • Oh Heather, what an experience for Callum to go through, and especially as its someone he knew. Do hope that he can see a way through this trauma and out the other side. Prayers are with him and his friends family.

Still waiting to see whether we get any snow here. Surprise, surprise, I couldn't get in to see a doctor today but have been booked in to see the nurse practioner at our other practice in a village about 10 miles away - so, if snow does not impede us, we will be going out there tomorrow morning and hopefully something will be done.

  • Today’s max is 35, that’s C not F. With 11% humidity.

If you want to see bad drivers, come to South Aussie. Our state is notorious for tailgaiting, signalling after changing lanes, road rage and general bad manners on the roads.

  • Good Morning. White over with snow, here, but not deep. Nevertheless, my OH is not off to play golf as he has the beginnings of a cold, also. We've both been up several times in the night.

Hope you can get to see the nurse, Lynette.
