  • I've deleted most of my previous post but thanks, LINDY and OG. Things seem better this evening.

  • Glad things are improving, Heather.

It's been snowing here again and now we're white over, even the cars which had snow on them this morning, then it melted -  but now they're just white mounds!

  • First day of autumn and it is still cooler. (Our media don’t bother with all that autumn equinox stuff!)

I hope all the UpOver housebound are managing well. Amazing snow scenes on the news.

Nanny duty OK, We played hide & seek – my hiding places limited as I cannot fit under parents’ bed LOL – and then I read about 30 books. I kid you not. Misses competed to see how many books they could pile in my lap. Fortunately most were only tiny and a few pages. I also washed dishes, emptied dishwasher, folded washing and flopped on lounge to rest. A loud whisper “SHH, Gran’s asleep” and MissJ dived on me for a cuddle. MissL napped from 4 pm

  • Heather: Hope things were better at both ends of the phone!  :-)

Lindybird: Not as sad for us as the poor people still digging out...   Oh geez. I've forgotten where you're off to. Gargle with salt water to deter any of OH's cold germs, just to make sure....

OG: I can see your bird food budget go up if your weather continues much longer.

AQ: Just missed you - am worn out reading about your days on nanny-duty.

Diane: Are you on the edges of that storm that's heading east?

Sunny here, but temperatures have plummeted to daytime highs in the mid-50s with lows at night just above freezing!  :-)  Rain due tomorrow afternoon.

  • Off to the Canaries again, Annette! (Don't expect you to keep up with all my comings & goings.... :-) )  Hope you get some rain for the garden. I'm putting out bird food at least twice a day and am having to smuggle bird seed into the house to keep up supplies, when my OH is not looking!

Laughed at your Nanny escapades, AQ!

Must get to sleep now, another busy day tomorrow. Hope my hairdresser can make it into work as my long locks need trimming.

  • Good morning, all.  Tiger has opened the Predictions Thread.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning.  Thank You, Clare! My prediction is there, now, even though it's always possible that dear EJ might have to face a challenge for the nest this year from another female. :-(

Snowy here and cold, as predicted. Feel sorry for those having a bad time in this weather.

I have high hopes of her attracting a suitable male to help her defend the nest.  She's rather good at doing that!

  • I've just read that this fantastic project has just given out its 100 millionth book!  What a great thing to achieve.
