LINDY Glad you got things sorted.
OG Yes, we both love Loch an Eilein. It is where Goldie 2 and 3 are scattered. No 1 was put to sleep in Shetland. We always paused for a minute or 2 in the place we scattered them.
ANNETTE Lie the idea of bringing Lightning home.
Sprinklings of snow hourly - about ten minutes to each hour, and lasting between 6 and 10 minutes. White all over, but no depth to it. Very cold, but cosy indoors. OH is going to sit and wait at dentist's for an "emergency appointment", but I don't think he'll get anything done as he already has a treatment appointment in two weeks. I am not very sympathetic as I did advise against a baguette on Saturday - if he fancies a food item, he just grabs the chance, whereas I always question myself as to whether my teeth are up to it, and will only eat what I can manage comfortably!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Poor EE - I have broken a tooth before when desire overtook common sense and it cost me a fortune. But I do still eat pork crackling,(the cause of the disaster), whenever it is in front of me. Some things are irresistible.
LINDY- I'm so happy that you have rebooked and can now go away without that on your mind. It is good that you are now having the holidays that you looked forward to for so many years when your OH was working seven days a week. Am I right in thinking that he farmed?
AQ- you have my sympathies regarding your temperatures just now.
Callum had a talk with his dad this morning. I've yet to hear how it went and won't, unless Callum wants to discuss it. I think that he will be giving his witness statement to the police either today or tomorrow.
Snow here this morning but disappearing now and 3.5 outside. No wind.
ANNETTE- nice idea to have Lightning nearby. DIBNLIB- glad you enjoyed your walk yesterday. It is one of the best, I think.
Lots of snow here overnight. Then we had a bit of sun and it started to clear, but it's now started again. Will I be able to drive about ten miles to the location of the talk I'm supposed to be giving this afternoon? It's mostly main roads, and I will be back before it gets dark ... but ... oh dear, I never was very good at decisions!
Morning snow all thawed at 2.2 degrees! Now snowing again. Trying to make decision whether to cancel hospital visit tomorrow!
I obviously gave wrong impression of OH's tooth - but he gave me wrong impression too! I understood him to say it was rocking, but apparently it was sore - he's still at the dentist - had root canal treatment and getting a filling between the tooth and the crown, or something like that! Not likely to eat his prawn sandwich at lunchtime - but no way I can eat two, so his prawns will be wasted! He can have a "cup a soup" and probably mumble the bread with it!
Snow stopped again while I was typing - but sky remains very dark, so I reckon there is more to come. Don't take any risks on the roads - and remember other drivers can get in the way!
Glad to say my meeting has been cancelled. And I didn't even have to make the decision! Hibernation continues. Still snowing quite hard here ...

It's sunny here at the moment so we look like a classic Christmas scene - sadly the sunshine isn't supposed to last.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
OH came home and had soup and bread - and then "managed" a chocolate biscuit! He has phone the hospital to say he is not taking me tomorrow - not worth risking it to be told I am okay - already had the written result of the mammogram. I have also postponed my GP appointment and will be staying indoors for the foreseeable future.
Just seen that the Scottish transport minister advises do not travel on tomorrow's amber warning, and that it might even be updated to a red warning!
Just heard my bowls match on Saturday has been cancelled - snow in Tunbridge Wells, although I for one hope it's disappeared by then. Now my next landmark is a journey of 16 miles on Sunday - and I really HAVE to be there! Hopefully The Beast will have passed through by then.
Do hope so, Pat. You have had a lot of things changed, but better safe than sorry.
Heather, my OH farmed (Dairy, with a bit of crops also) and then went on to do about five different jobs in his life since he left the farm: some of them simultaneously! Ending with our running two businesses from home, which is where I came in, and was already helping in "the office" when I started writing on here in 2008. Many a phone conversation with one eye on EJ on the nest, with the sound turned down, LOL!! He's worked either seven or six days a week all of his life and is now still a human dynamo as he can't keep still too often. Regrouted the bathroom this morning, because the golf was cancelled!
I went to the dentist this afternoon: it was sunny when I went, and snowing when I left. But its been snowing on and off, all day. Not enough to settle properly except for the light fall last night. Dentist has put yet another filling on my back molar and we have arranged for me to have a crown fitted when we return from our hols.
EDIT: Meant to say, commiserations with EE over his dental woes, OG!
