Thought I'd give Diane a break this week. Sorry, no pretty pic, but here's a link - posted by Gardenbirder late Saturday - to a funny BBC page re the Wales earthquake: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-43100524 :-))
PS -- the garden birds are unimpressed by my cooked pearl barley, most of its still there....
Can't say I blame them - I can't stand soups (broths) with Barley in!
And that includes Scotch Broth which OH loves!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Pat O said:Clare - you were obviously confident Limpy would say 'yes'!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
We've had a disappointment. No one's ill or anything, just some exciting plans we had which have now been spoiled. More later. I'm off to find my hankie!
Sorry Linda - something has obviously upset you!
LINDY - Thinking about you, hugs from here.
So sorry Lindy that you are in need of a hanky. Consoling thoughts from here.
I loved your Wedding photo.
Sorry Lindy!!!
Just quickly read all your news. Feeling under the weather as today started feeling very shivery and cold after breakfast and it lasted about 4/5 hours and then I went all achy and a very tender right leg. Thought it was the start of cellulitis but can't see any telltale signs. It came on suddenly with a bit of sickness so hopefully it will go just as quickly !!! Not eaten much as didn't feel like it.Still feeling grotty.
Lindybird - loved you wedding photo. Mine were all in b/w too in 1968.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Oh, dear. Sorry I've come on whinging. Last April (April!!) We carefully planned and booked for a special treat - a cruise leaving at the end of August this year, to coincide with a landmark birthday. Only a fortnight ago, we booked connecting flights to Barcelona, to meet the ship, and I excitedly bought some guide books for the places we would be calling into.
Tonight we got a phone call from the travel agents saying that unbelievably, the whole cruise has been cancelled, as the entire ship has been booked in its entirety by one man..... We assume this is a millionaire, who has given them some vast sum to get his way. We are to be compensated for our flights which we'd paid for in full. I'm stunned, upset and annoyed in equal measure.
It will be hard to find anything even slightly similar, this late - most cruises are popular and are very much booked up, months in advance. Which is why we booked so far in advance, ourselves! Bah!!
(It was for my birthday, which is one ending in "0" but is not 60 nor 80......)
