Ladies and Gentleman, Margo's husband Chris has just rung me and asked me to post a message on his behalf to all Margo's friends on this Forum.
As you will know during Margo's final weeks and after her passing many messages were posted on here and which I then e-mailed to Chris.
He wants everyone to know how much that contact helped him through some very dark times and still does to this day.
I had a long chat with him and it is clear that his pain is still very real, particularly at this time of the year, together with the fact that her birthday falls on Boxing Day.
His message was simple "Please convey to all those people who showed such care, kindness and friendship to both Margo and I my grateful thanks for their support and wish them a very Happy Christmas and New Year"
It is my pleasure and privilege to do so.
As previously if there are any responses I will forward them to Chris.
Birdies LG DU update.
Mike: Don't mean to prolong this thread, but I wanted to remind Chris that it was clear from Margo's posts that he was absolutely wonderful during her illness. What a gem! I hope he's taken some consolation in knowing how lucky she was to have him.
In Tiger's latest thread he referred back to a similar thread in 2011. Reading through this I found several posts by Margo so I sent the link to Chris and he has replied saying ..
"Thanks Mike it was - lovely to read Marg's comments. It also fixes the date of her volunteering week. I knew it was June and Marg was not prepared for the freezing overnight temperatures at LG."
Thank you Tiger. I'm sure reading those comments helped Chris.
Thanks Mike for mentioning this thread to me, I have not been keeping up with the forum during non-osprey season :-)
It was a real privilege to have known Margo, I think of her often, and will never, ever forget her.
I hope Chris can take some comfort from knowing that she was thought of so highly, and will stay in so many people's memories forever.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
I am sorry I have missed this poignant thread. Margo was indeed a kind lady who always put others first, who always responded to any posts in such a kind way. I well remember her excitement and anticipation of her first volunteering stint up at LG and couldn't wait to see dear EJ and Odin in the feather. It was such a shame that the weather was so cold for her, and the night shift must have been difficult for her.It was lovely to hear all her news of trips to London to the various shows, her love and caring of Billie, and of course her love of Chris. She left a hole in many hearts, but is fondly remembered.

A few of us met MARGO when she came up for her volunteering week. I believe that WENDY met her at Inverness Airport and drove her to LG. I met her there, courtesy of Rose from the Facebook group and we had a lovely lunch together. MARGO was, indeed , very surprised at how cold a Highland summer can be, compared to Dorset (!) but she persevered, even when there was quite a walk to the loo at night! Her delight at seeing the ospreys in the flesh made all the discomfort bearable.
Thank you all. I have just sent your remaining comments to Chris.
Ladies and Gentleman
May I take this opportunity to remind everyone that a year ago today Margo passed away after a long illness, bravely fought.
Early on the day in question Jess emailed me that famous photo of EJ sitting in the dead tree looking back at the VC.
I emailed it to Chris who was at Margo's side with his laptop and I like to think that picture brought her comfort and pleasure in what were to be her final hours.
Fly high Margo.
Good Morning Mike
Margo lives on in the memories of all who knew her on this forum.
Margo and Brenda also, were prolific posters on the forum, their posts are sadly missed but they will always be remembered by many of us.
Thinking of you dear Margo
Thank you Mary.
I will forward this link to Chris later today.
Thank you, Mary: that's beautiful.
The following is dedicated to the successful migration of the 1st Poole Ospreys recently, and to dearest Margo, who lived in Poole, and would have been beyond excited at the prospect of the future for the birds she loved so much.
