What a lovely opportunity for you DIBNLIB. I like both the singers individually, and their comedy patter together, but don't find their voices go together. I assume you had to travel by the main road rather than over the top in the current weather?!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Annette - I recommend an indoor litter box for Lightning. She may just not have the energy to go outside. If you already have one then she probably has another UTI. Having nursed many. many elderly cats in their final years I know how expensive it is. I can only say goodbye when I know they are suffering.
OG- please don't say you are "old and inconvenient" with all the things you do!!! You stagger me with all you accomplish in one day!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Temperature reached positive 5.2 C by teatime - and not supposed to get down to zero again here until Thursday night!
OG: Ha-ha! I think many of us are destined to be old and inconvenient. Do you have those sloping curbs on street corners for wheelchairs, etc, to cross the road?
bjane: Good to see you! How are things with you? Lightning has never had a litter box; always having been an outside/inside creature. I think we may have tried one once but I remember she sat in it and did her business over the edge! She's has no problem following me around the kitchen when there's food on offer and goes walkabout around the garden too, so not sure it's a case of not enough energy.
ANNETTE - lowered curbs here have "pimples" on so blind people can feel with their feet - they cause extra bumps for anyone in a chair. and are actually painful on my arthritic feet if I am walking! Sure they are a brilliant idea as intended but not ideal!
OG-My daughter is not fond of the dimpled ramps either but appreciates them in the winter when it's icy as they keep her chair from slipping.
Sorry to hear about Lightning, Annette - Our pets sometimes give us somewhat of a dilemma. I'm sure you'll know when she's in need of extra help from you, and is no longer enjoying her life. Always a sad time.
OG - Well Done to EE for getting the errands done, in spite of his aches. Will be hoping that he feels better soon. There's so much to be done at this time of year.
My Friend popped in this morning on her way back from clinic - she stopped for a cuppa and a chat, although I could ill afford the time - I had just got out my boxes of decorations and was trying to get a start on my festive decs. Also hav'nt finished writing my cards either. Rushed around this afternoon, catching up. Of course, I can't catch up, darn it :-(.
It's very cold here, and as it rained a little earlier, now we're worried that it will freeze over and be sheet ice in the morning. Bah!
Dropped kerbs are a bane on OH's life. Either dimpled as some of you have said or not dropped enough, or inconsiderate people parking across them which happens frequently in our village. On a different tack as of 9.30 tonight temperature has managed the dizzy heights of +0.1C.
Glad to see that Annette has relief from the fires and that she is safe. Also AQ is feeling a little better re her back.
Forestboar - we also had snow in Northants but not I think as much as you have although the school where my dau. works was closed on Monday because of the weather, as indeed quite a few schools. Back to normal today with local roads icy and main roads clear.
