Hi folks, It was a windy and damp day yesterday. Lots of vigorous exercising by Middle and Youngest. Thought at one time the middle one would take off, it was certainly doing so across the nest. I think 5 fish in all were delivered by both parents between them. All at rest now. Ahhhhhhhhnight, night, see you all in the morning.

The center may have been closed when #2 fledged . It appears to have fledged at 7:30 P.M. What time does the center close ?.
The nest is monitored 24/7 by volunteers. There is a second camera in the tree to the right where EJ roosts . That camera can pan the entire area . If the chick landed in some unsafe spot I am sure the volunteers would contact Richard. When Deshar fledged he stayed in his tree for a very long time ( more than an hour) before he flew back to the nest. The center was using the camera than can pan the area for our viewing and we saw him sitting there .

Just checked in before signing out. Still 2 chicks on the nest. Good Night.
The chick near the front is intently watching some thing to the left of the nest. There is a large tree to the left of the nest. Maybe that is where #2 landed and is staying for the night. A tree with leaves would offer some protection from the wind.
There are also sounds that are being picked up by the microphone on the camera post .
Thank you SO much Barbara Jean. I didn't know that about Deshar. Also, your observations of the other chicks movements . I do feel much more reassured now. The weather really had me concerned.
Barnara Jean. your information helps us that are unfamiliar with the surroundngs what could be going on.Let's hope he is sheltering in a tree out of the wind and that EJ is close by. No doubt we will find out what is going on in the morning.
What a day !! :) My concern is relieved - thank you all so much. And goodnight .
Yes, goodnight all. It's been a very exciting day, hasn't it? What will the ospreys show us tomorrow?
Not sure which tree Odin stays in when not fishing, but that's where I reckon #2 is :-)
He's always had a special connection with his dad ever since he was fed as a little 'un -

That's a very interesting thought, budgie23. Yes, let's hope he has some company.
I do not see any particular reason for concern. I think this is the first time I have seen a chick spend its first night of freedom away from the nest but I have seen chicks spend their second night away from the nest.
Expect chick #2 to quickly reappear as soon as some fish arrives in the nest!
