Daily Update (LG Nest) Friday 16th July

Hi folks, It was a windy and damp day yesterday.  Lots of vigorous exercising by Middle and Youngest. Thought at one time the middle one would take off, it was certainly doing so across the nest.  I think 5 fish in all were delivered by both parents between them.  All at rest now. Ahhhhhhhhnight, night, see you all in the morning.

  • Good morning all. Three snoozing on nest.

Lindybird - You missed a fish in yesterday's list. About 7 am, GEM had a tug of war with EJ and won. He was still eating 35 mins later. So I make it 6 fish. (Not a criticism - it's great to see the summary.)

    Hi everyone.

Thanks for all the   information and  pics!!

I have noticed the days are getting shorter. Dawn is breaking a wee bit later each day

I hope the next one to fledge waits until Saturday.

I am sure   Saturday is a day when  many more people can visit the center and it  would make  spectacular  viewing and a day to remember for them .

Two GEMs snuggling together on back of nest. The third one, at front, has hiccups. LOL

  • In reply to aquilareen:

Evening/morning all:  Three chicks on nest; one has woken up and is sitting up and perusing the view. Oh. Another is up and flapping a bit now.

  • In reply to Annette in SoCal:

Two GEMs at the gym, one abed.
    EDIT Good morning Annette.

  • In reply to aquilareen:

I am not sure who is who on the nest right now .

We need the eldest to  go fly-about so we can figure out the  other two :)

Forgot to say Thanks Lynette for starting the thread each day.

Morning AQBarbara Jean: I expected #1 to take off by now but they appear to be busy preening.

  • In reply to Barbara:

I think #1 is at the right (now on EJ's perch) - Oh. maybe not - since the one in the middle just flew off!

#1 was the one laying in the center of the nest. It grew tired of the flapping  chick getting a lift and then falling  back down onto it's back so it  left the nest . LOL

Now lets see if we can  figure out who is  who   between the remaining  2 chicks on the nest

OK #2 is on the left !!   A butterly  flew by and #2 hit  the  deck .  LOL .

#3 is on EJ's perch  on the  right

Barbara Jean: Isn't that #2 at right and Titch on left?

    EDIT: Oh geez. I dunno.
