HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON!I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Black-Billed MagpieSeedskadee National Wildlife Refuge, Wyoming USAU.S. Fish and Wildlife ServicePhoto labeled Public Domain (Copyright Free)
It's been quite sunny here, after a couple of light showers, but although I've been doing lots of laundering I've not put any of it outside, as the air is damp. The last few leaves on our trees looked very pretty in the sunlight and reminded me how much I love autumn. We saw a big murmuration of starlings on our way back from Wales the other day, but I had to enjoy the sight of it on my own, as my OH was busy driving at the time!
Been doing all the joyful things like cleaning the bathroom and doing the ironing, so that this afternoon I can spend some time making Chrs. cards, or I'm frightened that time will catch up with me as I know how quickly those weeks leading up to the big event can be!
I hope that EE has been safe on the ladder, and managed the ceiling today, OG. Also hope that J has fully recovered now.
Thanks, LINDA. J is fine after two days unwell and his non-working Wednesday. He was happily back at work today. Ceilings are quite low, so OH is safe on the step ladder - he chooses from 3, all different heights! He will need to do a second coat perpendicular to the first - probably Saturday as we are back to the eye clinic tomorrow. I added up recent medical appointments - 14 days out of a month I was seeing doctor, hospital or nurse! No wonder we are both exhausted - have definitely been pushing ourselves too hard, and we are having a revision of all we do - for one thing, I said I would like an occasional day off for us both!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
No wonder that you are both exhausted OG. A day off whenever you can is definitely a very good idea. Does EE still do a shift at the museum?
No, HEATHER - he gave up the museum about two years ago. We are now reconsidering what we have been dragged into at church! Probably stripping out the extra meetings etc and just continuing the communications responsibility - website and newsletter, - I have to admit I was expecting too much of myself and struggling to do it. The next newsletter will be late anyway due to having my computer suite accessible during carpet-laying.
No doubt then, that you've both been busy, OG. Perhaps it would be a good idea to set aside one day a week at least when you both do very little. We consciously just leave everything now and then, and just go out somewhere - sometimes to a place we like, sometimes just for lunch out. There are often things left behind which we should be doing!
Now that we've retired, we've joined our friends who say "how did I ever have time to go to work!?!"
Good evening everyone.
I have had a busy few days with various visiting friends and relatives. and then the internet went down.
Oh has a large family, and they are now scattered all over the place, and stop by to see us when they are anywhere near Heathrow. It is always nice to see them. A great niece came in on an early morning flight on Sunday. She is particularly lively and was chatting away in the kitchen when I was cooking lunch. I almost put the lamb in the fridge to cook! We had had a late night with some friends on Saturday!
Good to hear all the news. Lovely that you have booked your cruise, Lynette. I think that would be a good one. It is difficult to make the decision with so many options.
Glad Bonnie seems to be mostly recovered Lindy. What a fright you must have had. Also pleased your OH seems better.
OG and Heather, I know what you mean about committee meetings and members.
Some people do seem to love talking about the same thing over and over. Not for me. I just like to get on with things,
Heather, I have never been in your position, but I do find your thoughts and progress with coping with your different life interesting and helpful. Thank you for sharing your feelings with us. I wish you well with your small steps.
I'm off to bed -- nice to hear from you, Rosy! Laughed about the lamb dinner!
Good Morning, All. I expect that Annette is busy getting off to Arizona, so I hope she has a good journey.
Dry here. I awoke early again, as still have my body clock wrong since the hour change < sigh > Then I went back to sleep!
Hoping to get lots done today, my To Do List keeps growing! But I will try to put on some more pics from my trip.
Today's pic:
This is labelled "wisps of cloud for a mane." which I thought was lovely.....
Early lunch later this morning as eye appt is 1:30 and we need time to get there! Letter says up to three hours there - and then J announces he hopes to go to a film after dinner - so I had to warn him we don't know what time dinner will be! Hey Ho - these things are sent to try us!
