  • HARELADY - pleased you have been enjoying family contact - especially being able to see both the Granddaughters.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Oh OG I'm sure your OH does want to celebrate.  We have requested a family meal actually on the day even though I was up for an open house inviting friends and family for a drink and nibbles but OH wants it quieter (that will be in August). Maybe dau's are communicating but telling you and are planning something.  No, just kidding. Pity though they aren't in contact with each other but of course that is up to them.

Lindy - do hope your OH's back problem eases even though the fall musn't have helped. Those puppies really are cute.

Heather - pleased to see that you are beginning to take small steps, keep it up.

Harelady - please to hear you have been to visit family and just down the road from us.

Take care all.  Been a lovely day down here if not a bit cooler.

  • Evening all:

Lindybird: Hope your OH is less sore today.

Heather:  Congrats on yet another step along your own path.  One small step for Heather, a giant leap for - hmmmm - I'm out of quotes!    Re emojis, one of my favorite is the one based on The Scream by Edvard Munch.  :-)

OG:  Sorry the meeting was such a pain - it all sounds rather familiar.  Hope you managed to zoom into a nice hot shower without too much discomfort.

Harelady: Lovely to see you and to hear you've been hanging out with the lovely Lunda and sublime Seraphina! :-)

Lynette: Congrats on organizing your cruise.  What are the ports of call?

Made the mistake of weighing myself this morning!  Now have a big sign on the refrigerator door with my weight in large block letters.  Ugh!  :-)

  • Good  Morning. Didn't come on and write last evening, as I was too shattered after trying to keep up with doing stuff all day. Went to bed feeling sorry for myself but have woken feeling much better just now. My OH says that thankfully, he feels an improvement now after seeing the chiropractor yesterday - he's sore from being manipulated, but it seems to have done the trick and now he just needs a couple of days to let the inflammation go down.

Bonnie is coughing less, but we've noticed that she has been keeping near to us and has welcomed being fussed over. That's the end of the Health Report!!

Lynette - You can now enjoy looking forward to your celebratory trip, which is half the fun.

    Heather -- Small steps, as has been said. You need to move ahead at the speed which suits you best. {{HUGS}}

Harelady - Nice to hear that you've been enjoying family time.

OG -  I don't think I'd have the patience, these days, to sit through an overlong meeting, not without saying "Just get on with it!!"

Annette - Your garden must be looking tidy now, after all your recent care. Enjoy your trip to AZ.

Greetings to Everyone not mentioned here...   and if you're a Lurker, why not join us for a natter!!

  • Here's today's pic:

"When you're smiling, the whole world smiles with you, they do say!"

  • Footnote --  I have received a nice e-mail from Brenda's husband, attaching a beautiful picture of his baby granddaughter Dorothy, who is thriving. He looks in on us occasionally, I think. Best wishes to all her family.

  • Just had a very unusual morning Starling "murmuration" around the houses - I think there must have been a threat, probably Mrs SH, so they kept getting close together and changing shape.

LYNETTE - it is a general thing that we really don't "do" celebration, and certainly not in a big way.  I would prefer to do nothing than force anyone to join in something which we might regret anyway.  Younger Daughter who lives further away and whom we actually see from time to time says she has the week off (in August) to do anything I might want!

LINDA - pleased you feel brighter this morning and that your OH is getting some benefit from the manipulation of his back.  Maybe Bonnie had a fright which will improve her "adventure eating" and keep her nearer to your OH when he takes her out!  I tried to hasten the meeting yesterday, and when we were to defer one item to the next meeting, I did comment that will be the fourth meeting to have it on the agenda!

OH is going to paint the study ceiling today, so I looked in here before he gets started - can't be bothered to set up the "Surface" in a different room!  But must now get out the way!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • PS - I also had the email from JOHN - lovely baby!

  • Much less cold here today, thank goodness.

LINDY - Good that your OH feels some benefit from the visit to chiropractor. What a fright you have had with Bonnie's mishap. Maybe that is another reason for feeling so tired. I noticed that you weren't on here last evening and was a bit worried.

OG - You and EE are so fortunate in that you seem to agree about most things, ie celebrating (or not!) My OH was such a sociable man, always up for any party or personal celebration. We had parties on all his 'big' birthdays, simply because he loved 'occasions' and being in the midst of a happy crowd. I am not a party person and never have been. Just happy to please him but always even happier when it was all over! Family gatherings excepted, of course.

Re the conversation about meetings - I was on the committees of some local and national charities for a number of years. Often thought that for some, their position on the committee was such a big part of their life, they seemed to get a buzz from it all. So much shuffling of papers and - well, I won't go on!

Nice comments about my shift from upstairs, thank you! I now know that my children were getting concerned about the amount of time it was taking for me to start using the living areas downstairs when alone in the house. Silly, really, just hiding away???? Anyway, spent all day downstairs yesterday and plan to keep going.

Lovely that BRENDA's husband is in contact and sending the photo of the baby.

    Have a good day, all.

  • I hope your children are proud of you now, HEATHER.  You have gradually made other changes and now you have taken a big step forward.  Well done!
