WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY AUGUST 19,2017

Last night in Arizona; heading home tomorrow with stopover in Palm Desert. Will catch  up then!

  • Not a very good birthday present, Diane, having pc problems. :-(  Hope it can be fixed, or else you can research a new one.

  • Just realised that I missed OG s post. Sorry that EE is struggling with his plate, OG. I had a plate, years ago, with two teeth, one each side, upper. I hated the feel of it in the roof of my mouth and eventually had bridgework done and haven't looked back since. Implants may be an option, also?

  • HEATHER- cost enough getting this on NHS, and not long ago, so no way he'll pay out for private!  Also, this could be temporary trouble from the recent extraction - I think he will persevere with trying it.  He wore it a while this morning, but decided he couldn't eat with it in.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG- Yes, maybe perseverance will be the answer for EE, hope things will get better soon.

  • My sympathies for EE.  Tooth problems are a miserable thing to bear.

Have been on the phone to our Youngest, and while we were talking I could hear little Matthew giggling in the background! He had been busy emptying the ironing basket and distributing the contents around the house, LOL! I was telling our Youngest about his brothers visit, and how Amber had been stubborn about getting dressed in the mornings. On Friday, she insisted on dressing herself, put her dress on back to front, and then flatly refused to change it!! She wore it all day!!

  • Yawn. Long and busy day. Now tucked up in motel after 1/3 of wonderful pizza and two glasses of wine.  Am about to fall asleep before final leg home tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how much, if any, effect the eclipse has on traffic. Really will catch up tomorrow.

Diane: Happy belated birthday, but that's awful about the computer!  Let us know what happens...

  • Good Morning.  Rather grey here, but the wind has dropped and it should be a dry day.

Nice to hear from you, Annette, on your last leg home. Hope you slept well and have an uneventful journey.

Diane: I have all my fingers crossed for you that you can get your computer fixed. I know it's important for you for work as well as pleasure.

An item on tv this morning about the sounds of Big Ben being silenced for repair work. Understandable, but for FOUR YEARS! --  As an MP said, why on earth can't they broadcast a recording from the other tower during the time the workmen need to be doing their task??

Grump over, I'm off to find some breakfast.

  • Here's today's pic:  specially for Annette:

  • LINDY   How sweet is that.

OG   Hope time helps with EEs dentures.

Benson going for grooming today. OH will drop me off for a swim on the way to her and will pick me up 90 mins later. We will collect Benson from groomer and then head to Dores to give him a walk and a swim in Loch Ness. He loves it there and this mornings forecast is good. We may have our lunch at Dores Inn.

  • LINDY   Those wonderful bongs will be much missed. Hope they can come up with a plan to replicate the sound and also that something can be done so the repairs don't take nearly as long and not cost nearly as much
