NEW CHAT THREADThis is the new thread for the week. I am watching the news of the terror attacks in London. I don't think it's appropriate to post my usual wishes for a happy new week along with a cheerful photo. I will simply say that my thoughts are with all of my dear friends in the U.K. I hope you all stay safe.
Heather – I hope the consultant’s staff gets themselves sorted. No way to run a business. Would they even know if someone hasn’t paid?
.
OG – Juggling food likes & dislikes can be frustrating. Some years ago when OH was away, I dined on rice & pasta every night – not his preference obviously! He doesn’t like salad either but gets it at least once a week, more often in summer.
Linda – Please send rain DownUnder. The light sprinkle of rain late yesterday has gone, leaving us with another sunny day and no likelihood of badly needed winter rain. I love this time of year when the deciduous trees lose their leaves and expose their “bones”.
This morn my knee had what OH says is its 12-month “grease & oil change”. First an xray, then knee doc an hour later. I was concerned that he may be late and I could only find a 2-hour park, 15 mins walk away. So in between I climbed back up the hill and moved my car to another space. Ho hum, Doc was on time and I’ve had extra exercise. BTW all is well with knee and it should last 20 years. I was tempted to detour to Murattis but came home for a healthy lunch. OH got his own lunch – it seems to consist of almonds and sultanas. Oh well, not much washing up!
Hello Annette. Not often we here together.
Pelting down this morning so no doubt we won't be walking Benson. Think it is due to stay like this most of the day..
WENDY Belated Happy Birthday to Daisy. That rug sounds great. Can you buy them anywhere, Benson would love one, I am sure.
As DIBNLIB says, it is pelting down. Great pools of rainwater lying around the old and poorly maintained road and ditto our driveway, also in need of upgrading.
AQ- happy to read that your knee inspection went well. My OH ate salad for lunch sometimes but it was never a favourite of his. The more I jazzed it up the slower his knife and fork moved!
ANNETTE- enjoy your day with your daughter.
DIANE- sending inspiration to you for your project.
Good Morning, All. Wet and windy here, again. My OH has cancelled his golf game and is going to sit down and work out our tax returns instead!
AQ -- Good that your knee passed muster. You certainly gave it some exercise yesterday! My OH will eat pasta occasionally, but not rice. I had rice with my cold chicken last night, and he had a baked potato. Luckily, we both love our vegetables when it comes to hot meals.
Tired of all the Election chat on the TV and now find we're counting the days until polling day. I don't think people realise how lucky they are to have our democracy here, and freedom of speech - the youngsters seem to take it all for granted even though we have plenty of bad examples of government on show elsewhere.
Here's today's pic:
Raining and as like Benson no chance of getting Daisy out as it funnels straight down her ears.....
Dibnlib I will e mail you with contact for mat as they are hand made to order. The lovely girl also makes dog treats with are rubbish free. We have just started Daisy on the Tumeric paste which benefits various body parts :-)
It's raining here as well ... dreadful drive from Derbyshire yesterday, with really heavy rain until just as I crossed into Scotland! Now wondering whether to go out to Eyemouth or find somewhere indoors ... the best-laid plans and all that.
Good morning - another very wet one here. We did a load of filing (and flinging) last evening and I think we shall continue with paperwork today - a lot of stuff accumulated during my time in hospital.
ANNETTE - sorry your Daughter was delayed - pleased she eventually arrived safely. Have a good time together.
AQ - pleased the knee passed to x-ray and doc test! WAs this just knee #2 or did he check previous one too?
HEATHER - something I enjoyed in hospital was a daily salad, they made really good salads - and all the food in Annan was miles better than in Dumfries, where everything tasted of salt. I especially liked the number of times haggis appeared on the menu!
LINDA - I, too, am fed up with all the election "news", especially considering how many people (three of us included) will have already cast our postal vote!
WENDY - that special dog-treat mat sounds intriguing. A lot more is said these days about stimulating pets in that way - considers their mental health as well as the physical!
Well, "onwards and upwards" - need to do some updates on family tree among other things!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
