The news that Blue 33 has now has two chicks home (well nearly) from the first two eggs that he fertilised puts him in the super osprey class.
Now 33 has always been a bit special since 1st August 2011 when he decided to visit the Manton Bay nest in Four's a crowd In 2014 he evicted his older brother (Blue 28) from the Manton Bay nest and moved in with Maya
Nothing really prepared us for his extraordinary feat in his first year of breeding. An osprey can strive for a lifetime to have two returning chicks. Blue 33 has done it in just over 2 days the time between eggs #1 and egg #2 in 2015
The legendary 3 (97) took four years to sire a chick that returned, the wonderful 5R (04)
Here is a resume on Blue 33 also known as 33 (11)
and Manton Bay stats

Unknown said: 33's brother, 28, fishes at River Gwash Trout Farm/Horn Mill Trout Farm. Have a look at the River Gwash Ospreys Facebook page and among other great photos (some of 28), scroll down to April 15 where there is a lovely flight photo of 28: www.facebook.com/River-Gwash-Ospreys-896903713712257 . Their website ( www.rivergwashtroutfarm.co.uk ) has a great video on a loop on their home page of a ringed fishing Osprey--I hope someone can read the ring!

Sure looks like Blue 28 to me !!!
I am sorry I gave the wrong impression. since this is a thread about Blue 33 I meant that it would be good if we had some pictures of Blue 33
I've only got snaps from the nestcam, TIGER, so they're not very good.
These are the only non-nestcam pics I can find.
2015 - Curiosity by Gary Jones, I titled it "Blue33 over Manton Bay":
2014 - This, apparently, is Blue33 fishing at dusk - I haven't credited it !!! Sorry !!!
Uncropped:
2014 - Blue33 with stick (obviously!). Is Gary Jones the regular photographer at Manton Bay?
Blue33 at ringing:
IMAGICAT
Gary Jones is possibly the best photographer I have ever come across. See Gary Jones Wildlife Photographer
Gary Jones is not the regular photographer at Manton Bay
Oops, So sorry, Tiger, I misunderstood your comment--of course the thread is about 33! But, oh well, at least he and 28 are related! I'd guess that John Wright at Rutland who takes all those wonderful photos and does fantastic drawings could contribute a few pics of 33 for us, provided, of course, that he and the blog from the Rutland Osprey Project website were credited. The blog by Kayleigh Brookes from a few days ago is here: www.ospreys.org.uk/summertime-and-the-living-is-easy and has quite a few photos of 33 as well as of Maya.
Kind regards, Ann
Fabulous photos - the kingfisher sequence just stunning
Gary Jones' blog from September 2016 showing several photos of 28, followed by what looks like 3 of 33, followed by large numbers of other Osprey photos, followed by comments by Tiger and others:

About time we had an updated photo of 33, the osprey superstar, who this season, along with Maya are raising 4 chicks. 33, as expected, is doing a fantastic job defending and providing for his family.

Thank you Karen. One for the Archives methinks! Even Tim Appleton, holding him at ringing in 2011 above, could not have foreseen how things would turn out for this boy. But then he is the son of 03(97) ….Mr Rutland!
Birdies LG DU update.
I know Mike - 33 is indeed a superstar as was his dad. It is all to do with the genes :-)
But what I think is fantastic is thinking back to 2011 when there was four chicks on the Manton Bay nest, with 33 himself making up the foursome when he visited and stayed for the afternoon on 15 July.
